Happy Tails
This page is dedicated to the animals and their forever homes. Every animal on this page was adopted from here.
We recently adopted Cami! (We have changed her name to Rue) She is settling in so well and we love her so much! - Though we are taking the integrating process slowly with her and our other cat, they do play "paws" under the door!! We wanted to send an email saying thank you for all your help, and send a photo of our new family member!
Thanks again!
We adopted Tigger about 2.5 years ago. We had just lost our eldest cat, and the 3 surviving girls seemed to miss having a male influence around. So we got Tigger because he seemed to handle the females he was living with at the shelter pretty well. He's an outgoing and friendly boy. I hope he enjoys us as much as we enjoy him.

My name is Steve. My wife and I adopted Titan about a year ago. I’m just coming across a note written by you in regards to Titan. Titan is a part of our home with another dog now. They are awesome together. They’re about the same age and weight. Today, Titan weighs roughly 70 pounds, he’s healthy, and he’s full of energy. I can’t tell you enough how much we love this dog. Thank you for taking care of him prior to us adopting him. I’ve attached two photos that give a decent representation of his physique. One shows Newton, his ‘brother’, to the left. They are awesome together. Remember Titan.

This is Mr. Briggs. He is celebrating his 1year adoptaversary so he came in to say Hi.

This is Karma (she was "Cherry" when we adopted her b/c of the cherry eyes) and her person Dakota last summer. She is doing great and spoiled rotten! :o)

We adopted Holly (previously named Noel) on December 10, 2011. She was the best Christmas gift we've ever received. She is doing great. She is so friendly that everyone she meets just loves her. She is now enrolled in training class and is so smart. We are so happy to have her and thank you for everything you did to help us adopt her.

She will carry it around the house and talk to it. Just too cute! Hello to all my Wicomico County Humane Society friends!! I just wanted to wish you a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Thank you for taking such good care of me until I found my forever home with the Kellam family. I just love it here, as you can see I have a favorite “blankie” that I won’t go to sleep without. I am housebroken and have learned to sit, lay down, heel and stay. I love my kids and have even become good friends with Alex the cat, who also used to live with you at the shelter. I’ve been to the vet and had my last set of shots. I really don’t like riding in the car very much, my dad has to pick me up and put me in, but once I am in the car, I enjoy the ride. I will be starting obedience classes in January and am on the road to becoming the best dog ever!! I love you and miss you, but I am really glad to be here in my forever home. Merry Christmas!! Love, Harry
My husband and I adopted Sam, the German Shepherd, from your facility on October 29th, 2011. I called today to report how well he has been doing since the adoption. We have been blessed to have him in our lives and couldn't be happier to have as part of our family. He has gained about 5 (healthy) pounds since we adopted him. My husband and I think of Sam as our child and cannot wait until we do have kids someday because I think he will be a loving dog around children. My husband, Matt, and I wanted to send you a few pictures so you can see how Sam is doing.
We want to thank you for making the adoption process so smoothly for us and Sam!

Dear Jenna,
I want to drop you a quick woof. I have been with Mike and Suzanne for almost 2 weeks and I am having a dog gone good time. I have been pretty busy teaching them to be good pack mates. I just about have Mike trained to take me outside at 5:00 AM everyday. Suzanne is a great mom she makes my breakfast every morning after I walk Mike. I have en meeting many new butts at the Salisbury dog park Woof Woof!! Some of the bigger dogs make me nervous but Mike and Suzanne make me feel safe. Today I got my first bath at my new home. I won't say that I enjoyed it but Suzanne was there to hold my paw and make me feel better about it. I have lots of new toys and Mike loves to give me treats but only if I sit pretty. I have been told I will see my friends at Winterplace Vets on the 18th to have a check up. My knees are feeling good but Mike and Suzanne say I still need the check up.
Summer Chauveheid-Moran

Lola has definitely become another child of ours! She is so smart and so energetic she has become the perfect playmate for Logan. She loves the walks with us, and has a way with brightening any day up! Thank you for the new family member! P.s. she is a bed hog too! :)

Hey Ya'll, Thought I'd send you some pics of Buddy (formerly Miller) with his adopted sister Bad Dog Lucy. He is definitely a buddy, he wants to be wherever we are. Buddy could not be happier - he is living in the country where he can chase balls to his hearts content, visit with the neighbor's dogs, chases deer as far as the ditch with Lucy and he snuggles with Tom in the chair almost every night. He is an absolute joy. Lucy was also an alumnus of the shelter, circa 1999.
Thanks for doing the good work ya'll do! Thank you so much for Mr. Buddy - we adore him
Well, here I am sleeping on the keyboard. I've figured out that this is a good place to get my ears and head scratched while I nap. All my best, Gorgeous Gus

Hello! We wanted to pass on some pictures of our two babies to show that they are loving their new forever home! They were both adopted in July 2011 at the age of 2 months. Boss was aptly named, because he immediately took over the house. Lilly is such a beautiful girl, and while skittish at times, does love to be snuggled and have her belly rubbed when SHE decides the time is right! We are so enjoying having them in our home, and can't believe how big they are getting! They are now 7 months, and while they were not littermates, they love and play with each other all the time. Thank you for the wonderful work you do at the shelter to keep these babies safe and healthy!
This is Stoli , We knew him as Jazz. He was adopted from here in May of this year. He has put on some weight and is looking good.
This is Tyler was known to us as Triscuit. He was adopted July 5, 2011. He has grown so much since he has left.
Happy Birthday Gus.

We adopted Gus on October 14, 2004. This gentle, malnourished and
abused creature was saved by the dedicated staff at the Humane
Society. No matter how much we've given our beloved miracle dog
during the past seven years, he's given us so much more.

Just an update on Dolly (now Bella): she is doing FANTASTIC! She is so sweet and laid back, absolutely the perfect dog! She sleeps on the floor right next to the bed at night and is always under the bed by the time I wake up, then scrambles out to give lots of kisses! And she and my cat get along great :) Thank you again for the new love of my life!

My name is Bruce, my wife and i adopted "Tike", an Akita-Anatolian Shepard mix from your facility in September 2003. After witnessing the large amount of drool he produced we fittingly renamed him Homer. This gentle giant has been a wonderful and loyal addition to our family, always friendly and entertaining. Thanks to the Wicomico County Human Society, he was given a second chance at happiness and I can assure you that it was successful.

I just wanted to Thank you guys so much for the wonderful dog Dax that we adopted from you guys on 7/16/2011. He is a complete blessing in my family’s life. I have no clue how he ended up there at the humane society, however his previous owners loss is my family’s gain!!! Dax is perfect in every way possible, and we love him soooooooooooo much. I have attach some pictures that we took of Dax. Again thanks so much, I could not of asked for a better dog than Dax!!!!!!

Dear Humane Society of Wicomico County: We wanted to drop you a line or two to let you know how our new dog Milo is doing. Milo is a Jack Russell puppy who is making himself at home. Just like an energetic pup, he gets into trouble from time to time but makes us all laugh. He has learned how to sit and will fetch but insists that we chase him down to get the ball. We have a large back yard where he runs and jumps -all day long until he is tired. Milo gets along well with our mature Jack Russell Annie. Annie is 12 and is teaching Milo the ropes. She has also lost weight and the two of them are inseparable. It is amazing to watch Milo and how he quickly learns. He is a wonderful family member. I am inclosing some photos. Milo actually posed for the pictures (not joking). Thank you for all you do at the Humane society! Dogs like Milo wouldn't be alive without you!
Hello all, I just wanted to send you an update and some pictures of Izzy!! She is doing wonderfully and seems to really love her new home. Her dad spoils her so she has a full basket of toys. She likes to take out every one of them while we are sleeping, and when she is finished playing she comes in a sleeps on TOP of one of us. Sleeping beside us is just not close enough she must be on top of us, but we love it! I love walking in the door after a long day of work and having Izzy greet me at the door with meows and purring seeming to be happy that I have returned! We ran into a bit of trouble, she had tapeworms however we took care of that immediately and we have not seen a sign of them since she first took her medicine. She is such a great cat and I am so glad that I adopted her! I hope you all enjoy the pictures!!
Thanks for everything!

Hi everyone,
Just wanted you to know Biscuit seems to like his new home. He also seems to like us pretty well but if truth be told he likes our daughter’s boyfriend best.
Dear friends at HSWC, Just thought you would like an update on Spud. We adopted him about 5 years ago and could not imagine life without him!!!! He has grown to be a part of our family and adapted well as you can see. As a puppy he would run to the dryer when he heard the buzzer and jump in to sleep on the warm clothes (and eat the bounce fabric softner), he sits and waits for the boys to come home in front of the house, and occasionally takes a ride on 4 wheelers, tractors, and the school bus to make sure all is well!!! Thank you for all you do for our furry friends.

We have two members of our family that our adopted from the Wicomico Humane Society: Bijou, the cat (July, 2007) and Lucky, the Jack Russell Terrier (August, 2011). We also have Monte, our ten year old cat, that we got from a rescue. Bijou is a loving, sweet, and playful cat. She is a baby cakes that plays, purrs and cuddles. She asked to be mailed via USPS after Lucky moved in.
Our happy-go-lucky fellow has become loving member of our family. To get doggy kisses from a great Jack Russell Terrier, our boy Lucky has been a real delight to us. He is even getting along with the cats. Lucky graduated from Obedience School at age five, you can teach old dogs new tricks. I think it would be great if the Humane Society started an obedience to adoption class, I heard about a program like this on the radio. Thank you for all you do, Lynn and Tom Moskios

This is Rocco at the dog park. He was adopted from us Feb. 2011

Hello everyone,
I can’t believe it’s been almost a year since I adopted Lucy (Pinto when she was with you all). I wanted to let you know she is a wonderful addition to our family! I’ve attached a picture of Lucy, and she sends barks of hellos to everyone there. She loves to go for rides and long walks and has a few favorite toys she keeps with her. She’s learning some tricks and is getting along with her sisters, our 2 cats, Gracie and Holly, who were adopted over 4 years ago from the shelter.
Thanks again for all of your hard work on behalf of all of the homeless animals.
S. Wheatley
Lilly has decided she likes living with us. I forgot though how energetic a pup is. Tater, our cat, is not real happy with me right now but he'll come around.

I spoke with Angela at PetCo today where she had some cats available for adoption. I told her I am looking for a puppy and we talked about Auggie Doggie, who was born at Wicomico Human Society five years ago. I brought him home 8 weeks later and he's been healthy and happy ever since. Here are LOTS of pics of Auggie Doggie. Thanks for taking care of him until we found each other.
Sincerely,
