Everyone meet Congo ✨
This boy was rescued by animal control almost a year ago when he was found abandoned and malnourished in a wire crate in a backyard. This traumatic experience hasn’t stopped Congo from living his best life at the shelter though. True to the Pitbull nature, this boy doesn’t hold a grudge against humans – he is a people pleaser and loves everyone!
Congo is always excited to get out and loves sniffing every single thing. He especially loves rolling in the grass. After a walk, he enjoys playing fetch, jumping super high to play ball, or swimming in the pool to cool off. He is very treat and toy motivated. He’s learning how to take treats gently. Congo is down for any and all adventures! He loves to snuggle with his blanket in the car.
Congo is a professional attention seeker and will do anything for a belly rub- this includes tapping you with his foot until he gets attention. He’s known for his beautiful blue coat and his floppy ears which give him Dumbo vibes 🐘 This boy is a total sweetheart and would be a great companion for a gentle family. His previous injury/broken ear causes him pain sometimes (which is why he sadly has to live in the outdoor kennels – the noise is too much for him inside) and therefore he won’t want people, or young kids who don’t know any better, grabbing on his ear.
He’s estimated to be around 4 years old and is currently about 60 pounds but putting on weight. He does not do well with cats or other small animals, and although he was in a foster home with another dog, they started to not get along after some time and we therefore think Congo would do best as an only pet (really, he’s just been through so much that he deserves to be king of the castle!). He is just so sweet and loving though that we know he’ll make up for being a solo animal with his loyalty and affection!
