Meet Queen Jewels 👑💎
This three year old baked potato mix found our way to us with her two other siblings Dexter/Rosie when a vet reported suspected neglect. Jewels was underweight and her skin was in terrible shape. She has since fattened up (maybe a little too much) because of all the dog food, treats, and baked hot dogs she got at the shelter. Jewels wants nothing more than a soft place to lay her head and a person to snuggle with.
At the shelter, she was living in a crate because we are over capacity with dogs. Walking by her everyday was so depressing because she just looked so defeated. A wonderful volunteer stepped up to foster her and we saw her true personality come out. She loves belly rubs, laying in her fuzzy donut pillow, playing with toys, and being a couch potato. Jewels is a lower energy girl perfect for a person with a laidback lifestyle. She does get the zoomies sometimes but settles down real quick.
Jewels is crate trained, potty trained, and loves to sleep in her crate at night. She is so much more confident and needs a person to show her how to be a dog. She still doesn’t go super far on walks but with consistency and patience she will get there. She tested well with cats, dogs, and would do best with kids 10 & up because of her shyness. She’d probably do best with another laidback dog if she went home with one.
Jewels is being returned to us on September 27th because the foster has prior obligations and cannot keep her. We would LOVE to find Jewels another long term foster or her FOREVER HOME before this date! We don’t want to see her regress coming back to the shelter.
