I am a 2.5 year old, Neutered Male, Mastiff / Pit Bull Mix.

Hi world 🌎my name is Lincoln! I am a staff favorite here at the shelter.

I was found by City Animal Control back in July in rough shape. I had swelling which was a result of broken facial bones, fleas, and a fever. The doctors thought there was a good chance I was beaten when they assessed my injuries. I was so scared when I got to the shelter, I barked at everyone that walked by my kennel. It took some time and treats but I warmed up to staff and volunteers and they became my best buds. They got me all fixed up physically and they worked on socializing me.

Fast forward a few months, I was ready for adoption in October. I have really come out of my shell recently. I go for walks with everyone, even though… when I say I’m done, I’m done. I tend to pull myself back to the shelter when I’ve had enough. I fancy short walks and a few runs back and forth to catch toys, then I’m worn out. While I may look very athletic, I’m a bit lower energy compared to my shelter roommates. I am super smart and I love enrichment activities- doggy puzzles, or finding hidden toys and treats.

The best part of the day is when my favorite volunteer Terza comes. I can smell her a mile away because she has treats ready for me. She also tells me I’m the best boy in the whole world.

I am looking for my person, I know they’re out there and I don’t mind waiting. The shelter is my safe place, I know I’m loved and taken care of but I don’t want to stay here forever. I’m looking for someone that will take it slow with me, advocate for me, and show me what it’s like to be a dog! I will give you tons of slobbery kisses and loyalty in return. My forever person may need to come for a few visits to spend time with me in order for me to be comfortable. Lincoln weighs 82 lbs.
