Everyone meet Ruger!
This sweet boy was seized by animal control, thank goodness because he was being intentionally starved to death. We never understand why people could be so cruel but we are lucky that we have Ruger in our care. Our amazing staff got him healthy, and ready for adoption.
This boy craves a home with structure, rules, and consistency. Rugers new home needs to give him plenty of exercise so he can stretch his runway model legs. Ruger needs a patient person that will take it extra slow with him because it takes him a bit to warm up to people because of his past. He is not the type of dog that you will be able to take to public places (at this time)and have everyone come up to pet him, he needs an advocate, and someone to build his confidence. Once he knows you he shows off his goofy personality. This boy is photogenic and loves showing off his signature sit trick and corn teef smile.
Once youre best friends with Ruger he likes to give hugs. Ruger does not understand that hes as tall as a giraffe when he hugs you, so he would not do well in a home with children because of his lack of awareness of his size and his shyness.
Ruger seeks a dog savvy owner that will show him how to dog- in return, he will be a loyal and goofy best friend.
*Ruger may be a little selective of his humans so we do not feel he would do well in a home with children.
