Thank you so much for giving me my best friend. Oakley is the most kind hearted dog I have ever had and can’t wait to see him grow throughout the years.

Teyana, formerly Gidgit

“I wanted to send a quick update on Gidgit, we renamed her Teyana. Her first couple days at the house were very quiet. She stayed under our bed for the most part, and only came out to eat.

After the third night I noticed her incision became infected and took her to the PET ER. They gave me medicine and a cone for her to wear for a couple weeks. During that time, she got a sinus infection and was constantly sneezing, barely eating and very aloof. She didn’t seem to be comfortable no matter what she was doing and she just wanted to be left alone.

I was discussing with my friends what the best course of action could be and many of them suggested to bring her back to your humane society since she wasn’t adjusting well.

That night, Teyana jumped on my bed at 3 am and just layed on my chest. She had on her cone (that she hated lol), her eyes and nose were watery, she had been under the bed and didn’t want to come out all day, but for some reason she just jumped up to sleep with me.

So, of course I decided to keep trying. I continued climbing under the bed to pet and play with her, gave her little treats and lots of water and most importantly gave her space. By the time we had her first official check up she was up and playing, incision infection was gone, and her sinus infection was mostly gone.

Today I’m happy to report she’s playing a lot with Imani (previously named Hanna), and though Imani still doesn’t seem fully comfortable about Teyana yet, I can tell they are going to get along well.

Teyana has been through sooo much these passed couple weeks, and I’m so grateful she sees me as family.

We are still watching her enlarged eye, but other than that she is completely healthy for an FIV+ kitty. She’s very resilient and kind and I just wanted to share how great this little girl is doing. I’m very proud.”

Nina & Sammie, aka Leah & Sparkles

Nina and Sammie, previously Leah and Sparkles, have settled RIGHT into their new home and they’re new family is absolutely smitten. We love nothing more than to hear your happy adoption stories. Thank you for giving these babies a home full of nothing but love!

Imani, aka Hannah

“I wanted to give you an update on Imani (Pre-Adoption: Hannah). We are coming up on the 1 year mark of us adopting her into our family and it was the best decision. She came out of her shell after a couple days, started sleeping with me, laying on me when I sit, head-butting and purring at me. We were worried about her FIV+ having her be more sleepy or tired than other cats I’ve known, but she’s the most energetic cat I’ve ever seen lol! She loves playing fetch and catching mice toys in the air, hiding in the cabinets and looking out the window.

She’s my best friend and an amazing creature. I love watching her grow each day. When I picked her up she was in your care for over 100 days, so I’m happy to see that she feels safe and cared for even then, it made it easier to build trust between us. “
