Happy Tails

This is where we share information on the animals that have been adopted.
Won’t you consider adopting to give our animals their new forever home?

Pirate, the tripod kitten, is loving life with his new tripod doggy brother!

Lucy (formerly Slippers) is loving adopted life! She loves going to the dog park, going for walks, and surprisingly she loves the vet! Thank you for helping me find such a great companion!

Just wanted to let you know how happy I am with my adoption of Curry. Your staff and volunteers did a great job teaching him some basics and maintaining a good temperament. I have renamed him Mahi and he has adapted to the beach life well! Thanks again for helping him find a good home!

It’s Aprile and Glenn, we visited today and realized we should let you all know how well Squidward aka Rudy (his new name) is doing. Since we got him from you he has gained weight quick! You can hardly tell he was starved now, he went from 23lbs to 45lbs in less than 2 months! He has shockingly been so great about potty training and was already house broke when we brought him home. He has just completed puppy basics class at Salisbury Maryland Kennel Club and is a super smart pup! He’s now almost 8 months and we couldn’t be any happier. Rudy is very happy too, he gets a ton of exercise, dog park trips, and Glenn built him a super cool toy out on one of our trees in the yard. He is also the BEST snuggler and a major goofball! Just wanted to thank you all again for helping us find the perfect puppy for us. We love him and he’s fit right in perfectly!

Royce is doing great in his new home and is now up to 12 pounds!

Hi Everyone!

Just wanted to let you know that I am sooooo happy at my new home! I even surprised my new mom by being housetrained already! Yes, its true! I love my new sister and am making myself at home just like I’ve lived here all of my short life. This couldn’t have been a better match. I am not as talky as I was when I was with you because I am learning from my big sister. My mom also thinks I am VERY smart. I feel like a king in this castle. Thanks for taking good care of me when I was with you.

Thank she has settled in pretty well so far. Man does she snore!!

Formerly Hailey, now Bella

Hi! It’s been a few months now since I adopted Hershey, but I wanted to provide an update on how he’s doing! He is the smartest, most stubborn dog I have ever met and he can escape from any enclosure he’s put in! We gave up trying to crate him and now he has free range of the whole house. He doesn’t like any dog toys, but he loves napping on the bed and long walks. He has never once had an accident in the house and he does great outside without a leash! He gets along so well with his brother, Emmitt, who we rescued from Wicomico Humane last year!

Nala is settling in nicely with her two new partners!

Just wanted to give a quick update on Maggie, FKA Josie.  She is AMAZING!! We all love her so much, even my husband has taken to her.  She is so easy going, as you can see when we were playing dress up!  After the first three nights in a cage she decided that our bed was much better suited for her.  She demanded we let her out and she went up the steps just like Marley.  She has certainly made herself at home.  I just can’t tell you how much I am in love with her.  She has completed our family and we are so grateful that you allowed us to adopt her.

We are still working on her skin condition but in a few months we hope she will be completely healed.  She has gained some weight which was easy because she LOVES canned food and turkey tendons!

Abby, formerly Tiger Lily, enjoying her new forever home with her big brother!

Mojo is doing great, however, we have changed his name to “Blue” for the blue brindle.  I was concerned that “Mo” and “no” may get confusing while trying to train him.  The pictures are of him with his first Frosty Paws, resting with his Dad, on the raft with me in the pool (just jumped on) and his cutie pose.  He spends some time in his kennel but more time out of it and potty training is going well. His doctor’s appointment was Monday, he has gained 7 pounds and got his booster shots.

We just wanted you to know all is going well and we are all very happy together.  Thank you for all of your help and advice with the adoption, you did a great job for us.  We will stay in touch.

Trapper and Bistro

We have renamed them Apollo and Athena, but they have become the best of friends just in one day. Athena looks for him and he looks for her when the other leaves the room. They love sleeping in Momma and Daddy’s bed. They have loved snuggling up to us and are actually very well behaved and great listeners. Just in a day!! But we are so thankful for your shelter and that we were able to help 2 beautiful souls.

Cosmo is now “RUSTY” and he seems to know his name!
He’s loving life; he eats like a little horse, plays, naps and then eats and plays some more!
He’s been sleeping with my wife and me every night and snuggles up right next to our shoulders and necks.. we love it! He purrs loudly, until he falls to sleep. Unfortunately, he’s awake and ready to start a new day between 3:30 and 6:00 AM… we’ve got to work on that!

He had his first Veterinary visit yesterday and got an A+ from the Vet.. he’s doing great and has already gained a pound since we took him home, 11 days ago…. but he sure didn’t like that last shot they had to give him.

Thank you, and to the rest of the staff, and to the volunteers for bringing this new, and already spoiled, fur baby into our lives.

We have had Swizzle , now Skittles over a year now. She has gotten BIG and very strong. I would have never believed a dog could be as strong as she is. She is a big affectionate kisser who doesn’t realize how big and strong she is. She is sweet and loves attention and affection.

Hi!! Just wantes to send a few pics ur way! JASPER is doing super in his new home. Love all of his brothers and sisters…fitting in Puuuuurfect!

I wanted to shoot you a quick update to let you know how this very shy girl is doing. After 1 week she has seen a vet, been on a car ride, visited PetSmart, and made a new friend. She is still nervous when anyone reaches down at her but she prefers to sleep in bed with us and will snuggle close and let you rub all over her head, belly, and feet. She loves her new sister Denali and is having a great time playing. She is still working on feeling safe when she is crated and going to the bathroom outside. Overall, I would say the 1-week report is fantastic!

we adopted sunshine on August 1st – we did rename to sunny

Sunny is a blessing – he is the best dog I could have ever gotten – absolutely no issues at all – I was ready for some house training etc – I don’t even need to buy a crate – he is house training already and has the best temperament

Thank you !

Blues & Marbles

Blues & Marbles (now Nico & Xander) are doing great in their new home! They still love to be next to each other!

Just wanted to share some photos of Maverick. He’s doing so well! Got a clean bill of health from the vet and they say he’s going to be a pretty big kitty. Maverick is such a sweet and smart boy. He’s learned to come when called, sit & lie down. He loves car rides and trips to the beach! We are working on taking him outside on his harness, he seems to be getting the hang of “going for a walk” pretty quickly! We are so thankful to have him as part of our family.

she is very happy here, she is a very good dog.she loves being outside, i can take for walks around the yard with out the leash and she stays with me. I took to my dads to meet his dog and they got along great, she like my daughters dogs too.

Brittan’s (formerly Zoobie) first night was fantastic! Everything was perfect. She ate well, slept well and acts like she’s right at home.  She sits on command and we believe she’s house trained. We just love her!  She is named after a nurse at PRMC who took care of my mother in her final days last month.  The nurse was wonderful and just as sweet as our new baby, so we thought the name was fitting. Thanks so much to all at Wicomico Humane for their kindness and the hassle free adoption!

We loved Marley’s name but we changed it to Harley. We thought new beginning, new name & she responded to it very well! Maybe b/c it almost sounds the same! Harley’s blended with our family like she’s always been with us! Her & her sister Ryley  are bonding well too! She met Dr. Nolte last week & he gave her 2 thumbs up 👍👍 I attached a few photos. Please share them w/everyone & let them know how good she’s doing & how much we love her! 💞 Thank You ALL for taking such good care of her & loving her while she was with you!

Momma Nosy Pants

Momma Nosy Pants is now Mona Lisa and doing good! We love her!

Hi we wanted to update you on Fatima. She is doing great!! She’s slowly gaining weight and is doing well.. only downfall we have is she has severe separation anxiety.. And likes to chew and tear on stuff…. And feels most comfortable in her kennel when we leave….the first couple days she was on being left out. Then moved her to our laundry room.  That was a funny disaster…. And then we did kennel with tv on and that seemed better for her. We love her so much. And thankful we were allowed to adopt her!

The perfect adoption, first everyone is happy!  Just look at this ride home.  Then girls working hard to keep Chief quiet to allow stitches to heal.  However,  within 24 hours he proved out as a house trained, crate trained, perfect gentleman given full run of the house, evidenced by his sofa nap next to my open purse.  No interested in all the stuff laying about.  He is eating well, is housebroken. Has vet appt scheduled and we love him!  Thank you everyone for allowing us to adopt “Captain Smith.”

What a wonderful new family member he is!  Looks like he is smiling too.

We adopted Mango cat about 2 weeks ago. Just wanted to let you know how much we love him! Everyone who works at the vets office told me how much of a “cool cat” they thought he was. He’s now on a bit of a diet, is very nosy, loves to snuggle in bed, and he likes to lay on a “blanket nest” we make for him.

It’s been 5 weeks since we adopted Gracie and she has been a pure joy. She rides great in cars and as you see on a boat. We have socialized her with kids, dogs and outdoor concerts. She is very sweet and behaves very well. We started puppy training several weeks ago and she has done excellent.
Thank you again for working with us. I has been a win win situation for all of us.

Boone, formally known as “Steele,” was adopted from the Humane Society of Wicomico County in 2012. A few years later, Boone now lives in Michigan and is 6 1/2 years old! Our hearts and our home are so full. His brother, the pit bull, is his best friend. We couldn’t imagine our lives without Boone!

Just wanted to check in and let you know how our newly adopted kitty is doing. Callie, formerly Gloria, has settled into things here at the Robinson’s nicely.  She has filled a big void left by our 17 yr old cat, Kobe, passing away. She is sassy and sweet all in the same breath. While she was just over 5lbs when she came to us in May,  the scales are nearly tipping 9 as we speak. She likes to eat, mostly at her 5:40 am wake up meow/scream and def by 7 pm at night. She protects us from ants, flies, nearly anything that moves, including feet under the bed. We love her to death and I think she feels the same♥️

I just wanted to give you a nice update on the pig that I adopted from you guys. We named her June, and she is the happiest, sweetest, most spoiled pig ever! You’ll see her sleeping in the laundry room in one of the pictures below :-). She is doing so well with our other critters and she loves our big, fenced in backyard. Thank you all so much for allowing me to adopt her! We are in love with her and we are forever grateful for you all and for her original owner for having raised such an amazing pig!

I just wanted to touch base with you to let you know Penny is growing into quite a character. She’s 55 lbs and expected to get up to around 70 lbs. She isn’t the breed we were told at adoption time but, we love her anyway. She’s apparently a Pointer mix. She is a stubborn girl at walk time ( a puller) but, I just ordered a different kind of harness for her ( maybe fourth try will work) since the other three kinds have failed to do the job. She picked up most commands quickly. She does all the general commands including the army crawl, roll over, sit, stand, down and speak. She loves to stand up and “hug” us and she is so tall, she looks me full in the face. She is a good guard dog as well as a playmate for our whole family. She lets our grandsons love on her without hesitation ( ages three and one). Her coat is still changing. She’s getting more and more spots every month. It will be interesting to see how her coat turns out.

Hendrix has been renamed Jax & is doing very well in his new home.  So full of love for everyone. His older brother Dodger is so patient with him & has taught him to wrestle & play tug.

It’s been almost a week since we adopted sweet Lulu. She has adjusted as perfectly as could be expected. She has been using her crate when we leave and at bedtime without any real problems. She hasn’t found her appetite yet, but hopefully that’ll kick in soon (she is eating some treats and chicken). She loves all the toys and gets along very well with our two cats. They’re already sleeping next to each other! We’ve taken her to the dog park and a lot of very long walks. She’s friendly with everyone and everything and loves to play. She has been such a blessing to us and couldn’t have asked for a better match!

I recently adopted Toby. He is fitting in perfectly. He is a better listener then I could have imagined and is an absolute joy to be around. My son and I love him. This old guy is going to spend the rest of his days like a king. Thank y’all so much for introducing him to us.

I think it’s safe to say that Sophie is happy in her new home with her new fur sister!

Monster has turned one (May 28th)! He and Jax continue to be the best doggies!

Sephora has settled right in with no problem. She’s been so loving, curious, and well-behaved and we are head over heels in love with her. Thank you for all your help and everything you do; without you we would have never met such a beautiful little soul!

We adopted Noli in April 2017 and she is one of the sweetest dogs you’ll ever meet!  She loves her trips to the dog park, Tractor Supply and Home Depot; getting love at each stop! She has been a great addition to our family and can’t imagine life without her.

Henry has taken quite well to his new home with us!   We are thrilled!
He and Max are doing great too!  Max is still adjusting but overall he’s so excited to have a buddy to play with and snuggle with which we are grateful for. They love taking walks and naps together.  They also love listening to music – mostly nature sounds, acoustic, and spa music (we don’t spoil our fur babies though lol). The last picture is from this morning when I put on some acoustic music and they both just climbed into Henry’s crate and fell asleep- I was shocked haha!
I cannot thank you all enough for helping to make this happen!

Oliver (formerly Ringo) is settling right in! He and Bailey get along great, the only tricky part has been keeping him from playing too hard while he’s recovering. He took to crate training like he’s been doing it all his life. He’s a great dog and we love him already. Thanks for everything you all do and for helping us add Oliver to our family!

Takona is doing so well in her new home! She is loving life with her new little brother!

Daisy is enjoying life in her new home with her big brother!

Hi, I wanted to give you an update on Thor (formerly Indigo) and his story when I adopted in Dec 2017.

After looking around the humane society, I was getting ready to leave and saw a couple of crates in the corner of the lobby. When I took “Indigo” out, he started climbing all over me and tried to lick my face. Needless to say, I was filling out the adoption papers within minutes. Thor’s become a very curious brave cat and doesn’t shy away from other pets or people. It took his brother Tucker, a King Charles Cavalier, a couple of weeks to adjust  – but they are now playmates and nap buddies. Like most cats, Thor enjoys his cat tower, knocking things off tables, and watching birds from the windowsill.  I’m very thankful I spotted those crates tucked into the corner of the shelter – Thor makes me smile every day!
I attached a couple of pictures so you can see what a sweet boy Thor has grown into. Thank you!

Limerick is the the kindest most gentle soul we could have ever asked for. He has picked up quickly on the rules. He enjoys cuddling and going to the park. He absolutely adores all of his new human and dog friends. We are so lucky to have him in our lives. He brings joy everywhere he goes.

Brody has been adjusting so well to his new forever home! He has had a great first week and is full of energy and love! Thank you for taking such great care of him all the times he was rescued which gave us the opportunity to bring Brody into our home and Thank you for all you do every day for the animals of our community!

I recently adopted Molly a few weeks ago. I just wanted to update you and let you know she has fit in perfectly in our home. She was a little shy at first but has made herself at home. We had a bed in the living room for our puggle Frankie that she would never use, but molly has pretty much claimed it and and lays in it whenever we are out there; she looks so comfortable in it.
We did get a crate for her for the first night. We placed the bed in it, she walked in it, checked it out, looked nice, basically saying thanks. But she ended up sleeping in my bed. I guess you could say we gave her a choice, but if we enforced the crate, she would have been happy in it; plenty of space. We also thought about her past home and figured sleeping in the bed with us may just feel so nice to her; we do the same for Frankie. We kept the crate for a week, for when we leave the house, but also found that she was a perfect angel when we would come back (not in the crate). She cries a little bit when we leave but realizes Frankie is there so she is not totally alone. When we come home, she is usually running from the bed in the living room, where she took a nap, to greet us at the door. So we returned the crate.
We are still working on her telling us when she needs to go out, but we usually take them both out regularly throughout the day. If she goes in the house, it is usually our fault for not paying attention to when they last went out. Frankie still has accidents too so we are not worried; we have a carpet cleaner.
We took them to the dog park a couple times and Molly just loves other dogs! So much, in fact, that she has to greet them at the door every time a new dog is coming in, “Hi I’m Molly, welcome to the dog park. Come play with me!

Thank you so much for allowing Molly to come home with us. She has been an absolute angel and we absolutely LOVE her and do our very best to shower her with the affection she so deserves!

Just wanted to let you know that little girl has been a great addition to our family. She is taking cues from our older girl dog, Shelby, and they both are becoming more comfortable with each other every day. Have not had any issues with them getting along from the first time she came home.  That’s been cool to watching them warm up to each other.

When our kids are around they get her playing like a puppy. She’s fast, lovable and so much a Terrier when she plays with her toys. I think she chewed the face off one and gutted the other to get to the squeaky part. Really cool watching her come out of her shell and becoming more comfortable here.

We are working through the potty issues and she is “mostly” going outside in our fenced in yard. As expected there are accidents but I feel confidant we’ll get past that soon.

She was so good coming home last week. Took us about 4 hours to get back and she was fantastic. Not a peep, whimper or potty needed. Just rode in my wife’s lap, and eventually feel asleep.

Took her to the vet today for her checkup and all is well. Vet loved her too. They are great folks!

One thing that surprised us was her reaction to the vacuum cleaner. She attacked it. Was hilarious to watch, but not a concern.

Thanks so much for letting us adopt her, we both feel she is in her forever home now. Just sad it took us so long to find each other, if you know what I mean.

Ghost (formerly Dax) is approaching his one year anniversary with his pack.  He is loved beyond measure!  He runs at the park daily and has three human brothers.  He is such a comfort to our family.  We wanted to share our happy tail!!!

We adopted Cooper on Saturday and here are a couple shots of cooper in his new home.  He loves to play ball but does not like our hardwood floors. He is also with his new buddy Laszlo a 12 year old Vizsla.

I thought that you guys would like to see some pictures of how Moose is doing! He is enjoying life!

What a wonderful little dog. This is the second great dog we have adopted from you. Thanks to everyone for what you do for these fur babies .

We just hit the 3 week mark with Shiba on Saturday and we wanted to let you all know she is doing amazing!!!!  Thank you again for a wonderful adoption experience!

I adopted Fandango, now known as Lily, on July 5, 2017.  Today is Lily’s first birthday!  Lily is everything an owner would want….she is loving, has been trained to follow commands, social, and fun!  Lily is enthusiastic about meeting new people and other dogs!  She loves to  snuggle and, yes, she sleeps in my bed with me at night!  She had a blast during the snowstorm, leaping and hopping, like a deer.  Lily continues to capture my heart and I love her to the moon and back!

Boog & Max

We adopted Boog (aka Larry) in July 2015 and Max (white one, formerly Bruiser) in August 2016. They are best buds and spoiled rotten!

Adopted in September 2017

We adopted her about a month ago now, and she’s settling in nicely. She loves to snuggle with us and give us those hugs you always told us about! We’re still working on a few commands, but she’s getting very good at listening. We are so happy to have her in our lives!

Hawkeye loves blankets and day time naps!

Lucy, formerly known as Jane, is doing great in her new home!

Casey is making amazing progress. She loves the other dogs in the neighborhood and we’ve been working hard on the basic commands – she’s a super fast learner (as long as treats are involved)!

Sweet Pea

Luna (formerly known as Sweet Pea, smaller white dog) is learning from her big sister how to finally enjoy the life of an inside dog. They even enjoy cuddling on their new cozy blanket together!

I’m loving my new home! Thank you all for helping me find my forever home!

Riley was adopted in December 2016. She is an awesome dog and she has brightened our days!

We adopted Belle (formerly known as Hashtag) a few weeks ago. She has gone from being scared of everyone, especially men, to being the friendliest dog I have ever seen. She sleeps up in our bed with us and is just so sweet. I know you guys mentioned she came in as a stray, but she’s perfectly housetrained and already knows how to sit and stay. She’s the perfect addition to our family. She has some separation anxiety, but now has a pet sitter to help with that! Thank you guys for bringing Belle into our life!

Atticus (Formerly known as Rinaldi) is enjoying life with his other Humane Society alum, Hailey (2015). He loves playing in the snow, visits from grandma, and he’s adamant that he’s going to make friends with the 2 cats. But he dislikes car rides, blow dryers and electric razors.

Addie is enjoying her new spoiled life and her cozy bed!

Hello. Just wanted to send a couple of picks of Gidget. My husband and I adopted her a few months ago and she has brought so much love and happiness. Thank you so much for her!

Had to share this picture of Gus today, adopted june 2016.  He is lucky he is cute!  The second picture is Gus and his big sister Tia.  We couldn’t have picked a better brother for her!

We would like to inform you that Diesel (formally Ernie) is adjusting to our home quite nicely!  He thinks he’s a lap dog!

Dory (Doori) seems to be very happy in her new life.  She liked the “Yule Dog” channel and really enjoys the warm fire

I wanted to share Huck’s Christmas picture. We love him very much. His older brother Max and him love each other but Huck does drive Max crazy at times. Merry Christmas and thanks for allowing us to make Huck a part of our family.

Tahlia and her big brother Clarke!

This is Gabby who we adopted in September 2017 and renamed Parsley. She is loving her new home!

We are so happy with our new member of the family Macy is just what we were looking for in a forever friend she’s friendly smart and obedient love love love this pup!

Hey guys I thought you might like to know how Will has adjusted. He has made himself right at home! My kids and I have renamed him to Hedwig ( the owl off Harry Potter.). He loves to play with all the toys we got him, especially in the middle of the night. My dog and him are starting to finally get used to each other. My dog just was a little jealous at first. My kids absolutely love him and honestly he is very good with them, even my youngest who just loves to hold him. He has truly completed our little family and we are so happy he came home with us!!

Hi everyone. You might remember me as Kate but my mom has renamed me Baileigh. I am so thankful with my time I spent with you. I just want to let you know I am doing just fine. I have a very large house to run around in. I have windows to look out of and there are so many colorful lights to look at. I am happy. I am well. I also like to rein over a tiny Christmas Village. Sometimes I pretend I am a snowstorm and knock all of the villagers and trees down…Thank you for all you do…Thank you for my life..

Hello wonderful staff of the wicomico animal shelter!  I adopted a 6 month old puppy at your shelter originally named Sada (we decided to keep her name but change the spelling to ‘Sata’ like the sata cable in computers), you might remember her best by having no ears. Sata is 9 months old now and is the most loving, silly, energetic pup we’ve ever had. She’s been a complete joy to have and watch grow up from a scruffy rough and tumble mismanered pup to a well behaved, bouncy and snuggly girl. I attached a few of my favorite pictures for you to see how much she’s grown. Thank you for giving us this wonderful gift of life.

We named her Mandi and she is the most amazing dog we’ve ever had!! She’s so incredibly smart and extremely in tune if someone is sad or hurt. She loves everyone she meets. She even loves our resident cats. I continually praise your organization and urge people to adopt. I see pitbulls for sale for 500.00 and can’t understand it. So many need homes! Thank you for all you do!

We absolutely love our purrfect cat. He has adapted so well in his new home, I can’t believe this loving kitten was ever in the shelter. He is full of head bumps, he is our alarm clock, extremely playful, and of course very vocal with us. We are so thankful to have added tigger to our family. Thank you Wicomico Humane Society for blessing us with Tigger.

This is Joe who we adopted 2 years ago when he was Bonz.  He loved his Beginner Obedience class so much he went back and got his Canine Good Citizenship certificate.  He loves hanging out and walks in the woods.  There is still a lot of puppy in this 85 pound guy.

Our whole family just adores our Layla (formerly Mariana); she has been such a joy and comfort as we’ve sadly lost two elderly dogs over the course of this year.  As the pictures show, she’s settled in here pretty well.  We could not be happier with our newest family member.

Renna, aka Momma, 2 year old pitbull boxer mix. I adopted her August 4th 2016 and since then she’s been spoiled rotten! After adoption she had cancer and fought it like a champ!! Now a big sister to 2 labs and a guniea pig she loves to sleep and swim!!

Hi.  This is a long time coming.  We adopted Buddy eight years ago from you. When he was with you,  he was called Crunch. However, my son who was eight at the time, now 16, renamed him buddy.  He has been an awesome dog.  He has his boy…. Buddy rides shotgun now.  Also, Buddy has two brothers Peanut and Elvis (cat).  Both of them were rescues.  Loves to go on rides and trips with us.

Hi!  My name is Gunnar.  I used to be named Tango.  This is my first Thanksgiving at my home.  My mommie let me help.  It was a lot of fun.  I have been at my forever home for about eight months and I am very happy.  I play ” fetch” everyday and love going for rides.  I am still learning good manners and I get a lot of love and treats when I do good- which is most of the time!!!  Thank- you for my forever home

Mischief is loving the adopted life!

Just writing with a ‘happy tails’ update on Hank (formerly Banjo) who was adopted in January of 2016.

Hank has been the perfect addition to our family. He is an excellent snuggler, so unbelievably sweet, and a very laid-back and goofy dude. We couldn’t love him more. Thank you for everything!

Lucy (Juniper) has been adjusting great!! The vet says her spay incision healed beautifully despite the two of them rough-housing at all hours of the day and night. I think we’ve finally graduated to house-broken again, and we’ve also nicknamed her “Miss Piggy” because we’ve found she LOVES food! (She eats all of hers, then tries to get all of Dixon’s) She also loves toys and will take ALL of them out of the “toy box” one by one just to see them all. Lol.

They’ve also learned the art of playing nicely. The nipping has settled and while they still rough house, we aren’t feeling the need to intervene quite as often which is great. They love running around the back yard and bouncing around every afternoon. She listens very well and just needs some fine-tuning training. We really could not be happier with her, and can’t thank you enough for helping to give this little girl another chance at happiness!

Talitha, aka Tali, is doing great! She is super smart, playful, and a spoiled cuddle-bug. She has learned a lot and (almost always) behaves like the best little girl. We love her; thank you!

As I sit here watching this sweet girl nap, I was thinking about how grateful and want to share pics!    This is Toffee, we renamed her Gemma!    She’s doing..GREAT?

Roxy & Sasha

Love these girls so glad I adopted both.

My husband and I adopted a dog back in February, Mr. Crowley! We have renamed him Shadow. I just wanted to let you know that he is doing great!

Penny Lane

Penny absolutely loves her new sister, Sadie, and she is learning many things from her. Sadie seems happy that she is here also. Penny is going to doggy daycare once a week and gets to play with other dogs besides Sadie. She loves all dogs! Penny is doing better with people and strange noises. When she is in the house, she is almost a normal puppy. A huge change from her first week!

Thank you all so much!

One week in and Gus is doing well and has made himself at home.  He also gets along well with Lucy, the other kitty. I made a good choice.

We adopted Smidge 4 years ago as a little kitten. He came with the bunny in the photo from you guys, he still plays with it to this day. He has changed a lot in his 4 years, he went from a kitten who loved to bite to a cat that loves to be rubbed and cuddled.

Jax & Monster

Jax and Monster have exceeded my expectations! They love playing with each other and I am happy we made the decision to keep them together! Monster loves following his dad around and trying to do what Jax does, it’s adorable! Jax loves to play fetch and will put the ball back into your hand to throw again which amazed me!

I have some pictures to send you of Emmitt (previously Boreas)! He sleeps all night in the bed with no accidents and he loves carrying around tennis balls in his mouth. He really loves car rides and going to the park. He also loves to jump, which we’re definitely working on! He’s a happy little dog and loves belly rubs and playing in water. Thanks for helping us give him a home!

Though we haven’t been able to get her on the boat yet (for a variety of reasons) I thought I would share some of our adventures. She seems to be comfortable at home and she did GREAT at EVO for their ‘Yappy Hour.’ She is even getting used to the bird (a bit).
Thanks so much!

Of course he’s spoiled rotten loves to sleep on the couch in the bed…. loves car rides and is starting to learn about personal space but that’s a work in progress.

Hello everyone. I just wanted to let you know that I have found my forever home. My new mom and dad are trying really hard to make sure that I have everything that I need. They play with me a lot. And I have lots of cool toys to keep me busy.

Last night I got to spend the night upstairs. Totally awesome!!!

I went to the vet on Tuesday and she thinks I am one cool cat. She was really nice to me and let me explore all around. I guess I am a pretty healthy little boy!  Also, I heard my mom talking to her about all kinds of fun stuff, like clicker and leash training. All I know is there is really good food involved so I will try hard to do a good job.

Well that’s about it. Just wanted to say hi to everyone and also say Thank You! for everything that you do to help cats and dogs like me to have a chance at finding a forever home. Oh I almost forgot. My forever name is Max. Isn’t that awesome!!!! I am even learning to come to my mom when she calls me.

Ok so I am a really cool dude!!!!

Thanks again, love to all Max.

She is doing wonderful and has adapted to apartment living very well. We love her very much. She is completely spoiled in every way, shape and form. She goes everywhere with us. She is super playful and intelligent. She learned sit in about a week and lay in one day! She has really been a great addition to our family.

Winslow had a bit of busy weekend. He started off by riding “shotgun” all the way home. He met a lot of new, friendly people. Needless to say a lot of belly rubbings, hugs and loving’s were received. He hung out with us, went for some walks and laid in the grass for some rest. He went for a dip in the pond with his new pack and laid in the kiddie pool a couple of times. We played fetch the ball whenever he wanted to. When the end of the day came he stretched out and slept in comfort (1st picture). I think he’s happy with his new home (second picture).

Gunner (below) has been such a joy for our family! Our other dog astra (above) loves him and he definitely keeps her going when they are constantly playing. He loves giving kisses! He is the alarm clock and loves waking us up with kisses in the morning! My parents aka grandparents come over every day to spoil their grandpuppies with walks around the blocks. He is constantly on the go and still learning right from wrong. We love him so much and are so happy we adopted him!

Enjoying the fresh air on her way home.

Harper is doing great. Loves to run and play in the yard. Plays so well with the kids. He’s a chewer. He chews everything he can but he is so loving.

Jasmine is very happy and loves to play with Ramona!

Cam is doing so good and we are loving every second we spend with her. Her and JJ have also made progress. Thank you for making our family complete!

Watson (Pixel) is adjusting very well to his new home. He loves spending time with his people, and his people love spending time with him! He loves to play, but he also likes his snuggle time. Sitting by the window, watching the birds, is one of his favorite past times.

He is one curious little kitten, and investigates everything! I guess his new name fits him purrfectly.

We are so glad to have Derby! He is a very sweet boy and, as you said, a wonderful greeter when you come in the door. And, I think he likes it here, too!

We absolutely love her!

We wanted to thank you for taking care of our baby before we adopted her! She was an awesome representative for the Humane Society at the National Night Out at the city park tonight! So many people commented on how well behaved she was and especially for just having turned one yesterday! She is such a sweet and loving and silly girl with lots of energy! Thank you so much!! ❤️Bella

Lily’s adjustment to her new home is going extremely well!  Her temperament is amazing…she is very mellow!  I have yet to hear her bark…even when the doorbell rings!  She definitely enjoys romping, running, and playing in the fenced backyard!   She sleeps in her crate at night or when I go out for a few hours.  The rest of the day, she has the run of the house.  She goes to the back door when she wants/needs to go out.

Thank you so much for allowing me to adopt Lily!  She is a loving, playful, puppy and a wonderful addition to my life!

Ledger is growing like a weed, he wakes me up around 6:30 for our morning run and has had ZERO accidents in the house. He always lets us know when he is ready to go! He loves to imitate the frogs on our walks after it rains, his little hops for hilarious! He has great soccer skills and will kick any ball around with his front paws, his moves are pretty smooth! He is a little clumsy with stairs and tripping over stuff but he is getting more self aware as he grows. His favorite treat is Prairie Dog salmon treats and has destroyed approximately 25 stuffed toys and one unplugged lamp. Needless to say he now has Kong toys.

While Miss Ginger is still a picky eater, she LOVES cream cheese! I hide her pill in it and she wolfs a ball of it down without suspecting a thing. Sitting at the top of the driveway to watch the world go by is her favorite past time. We walk several times a day and she always brings
me back to her favorite spot. She’s well behaved in the car, sleeps through the night and has had no accidents. She has very good manners, so perhaps someone taught her sit/stay or heel, in her former life?
We’re so happy she’s relaxing and fitting in. Ginger is a precious girl and very affectionate (cuddler!). She also has a playful, funny side.

Thank you, again, for bringing us together. We love her so much!

Dear All the Wonderful Staff:

We wanted to take time to thank you for saving our precious Booker (aka Oakley). He is an amazing addition to our family. He is doing very well, already housebroken and has only destroyed his plush $98 dog bed, lol, but that was our fault. We now have plenty of toys and pillows for him to play with. Since his adoption, we have done lots of things together. We sent some pictures of our sweet boy. This is one of the best decisions we’ve made and we can’t thank you enough for the perfect match. Thank you from all of us!

Just a quick note to let you know “Gunnar” aka. “Tango” has adjusted beautifully to his forever home. He is already housebroken and navigates the doggie doors without a second thought. Loves “his” porch and hates pillows on the sofa. We know he and his brother “Cash” were dropped off at your doors. I am thankful that their previous owners did that and did not just discard them. AND we, Gunnar’s parents, are thankful that you loved him til we could bring him home. Thank-you for all that you do!

We definitely have a happy boy, he makes us smile and laugh all day long! He’s such a sweet boy, we’re so glad and blessed to have him.

Bella, formerly Mounds, is loving her forever home.

I wanted to send an update for our puppy, Mya, who was Polka when she was adopted from the Humane Society. I have attached four photos and the Happy Tail is below:

We have had Mya for one year this week! She is a very playful, cuddly, funny sweetheart! Mya enjoys playing outside, going on walks through nature, digging and swimming at the beach, and cuddling her mom and dad. Mya gets along with every other dog she encounters and looks forward to having a new puppy sister or brother in the future. Her favorite food is cucumbers. Mya is very loved and spoiled and she returns that love 10 times as much!

She is doing GREAT! Her new name is Miss Penelope P. Puppers, aka, “Penny” We figured that was appropriate since you never know when a lucky penny is going to turn up, and since we had originally went in to see another dog, instead found her, so she is now our lucky Penny! She’s such a grand dog we figured we needed to also give her that long formal name too. LOL Incase she wants to run for office or something.
It took her about four days to get over the terror of being in a new place. We gave her space and let her get used to the new routine. Once she lost her fear she really blossomed! At first she was scared of the cats, and they were afraid of her too, now they co-exist in harmony. She’s also great with the chickens and ducks!

Penny has also turned out to be probably the smartest dog I’ve ever had. She knows about a dozen commands and reveals new skills all the time, while adapting to new scenarios.

I know that her border collie energy level was a concern at first, but honestly, she’s the perfect level of hyper. She has enough get up and go to follow me whenever I want, and still lay down and nap when I need her too.
She also continues to get along well with Lacey, our original dog. They are a team now and stand together to investigate new things. We call them “The poof-tail pack”.

thank you all for such an awesome dog. I love her so much. tippy

Saw that Madison’ssister had an update on the site and I wanted to include Madison. She is doing great. I couldn’t ask for a better dog. She loves to go for rides in my truck and usually 20 minutes into the ride is sleeping in the back seat. She loves her sister Molly(my black lab) they would play all day if I let them

We adopted Brooklyn in March 2012. First pic is of when we brought her home. She fit in with our other dogs very well. She became very attached to our one daughter, Megan. She is now 4 years old and is a city dog. Second pic is of her posing. Third pick is of her and her girls. She loves and is very protective of her girls. Loves going on walks, enjoys car rides, and visits

IMG_8091. We hope that her siblings, Madison and Easton, are doing just as well.

Tiny aka Paco

We abopted Tiny aka Paco on May 1 2013. Tiny have been the best dog ever. Tiny is well loved and is very spoiled. I want to say thank you again. Here is a picture of him, he is relaxing in the bed, that is he favorite place to besides laying in our laps sleeping.

As Beans gets ready to turn 3 next month I wanted to send an updated picture of my big boy!! He loves to cuddle on the couch and loved to go to obedience school weekly. He was adopted November 2013. I’ll never be able to thank the staff enough for all the work they did to ensure I was able to bring Beans home to live with me!!

He’s such a great addition to our family, a little hard to photograph but absolutely wonderful.

We adopted “Delightful” 11-6 -15 and she is doing very well today. After we adopted her, she slept all the way home to Northern Delaware as if she knew she was finally going to her new home. Delightful has settled well in her new home and she loves to play, chase brooms and show off her jumping skills. We bought her a big tall condo and she jumps all the way to the top and talks to the birds through the slider. She also chases the squirrels back and forth through the slider and they actually come up every day to look for her. Delightful is a bundle of fun and love. She loves to snuggle on the couch and also loves to jump up on the king size bed and snuggle too. Delightful loves all kinds of toys and runs all over the house chasing them. She loves to show off, run and play tag. Delightful is so happy in her new home and getting her changed our lives. She is so content and is always part of our lives all the time. She has settled in well. I want to thank the staff at Humane Society of Wicomico County for taking in Delightful and also for the care they provided. We were on vacation in Ocean City and happen to see her picture on TV. A week later we went back down there to get her and it was the best decision. She is showing so much love to both of us and words can’t express our gratitude. Thank you for letting us adopt Delightful and running the TV ad. Delightful also thanks you for all the hard work you have done until we adopted her.

Here is an update on Garda, now known as Bunny (we adopted her the day before Easter and renamed her on the way home). The Vet reported that her health is great and her spay incision has healed perfectly. She is truly a lap cat who purrs and cuddles constantly. She made herself right at home and claimed an old pet bed as her nap spot and a very, very old cat toy as her favorite. We are the lucky ones who now have these sweet, little girl living with us. She is a joy.

Hello. My parents adopted Bliss (now known as “Lilly”) a few weeks ago. She has such a wonderful spunky personality and is bringing a lot of fun and joy to my parent’s home. She had to get her hair cut due to some of the knots, but definitely came away in her puppy cut with a much lighter and bouncy step….Little Miss Personality plus.

Just wanted to show you how well that Casey the Golden Retriever is making out. She is absolutely a love bug and it she has adjusted to my place like a champ. Shes housetrained, she listens to commands, knows her name and sleeps thru the night right next to my bed. I could not have asked for a more loving dog and is just what I was looking for.

Your staff was so great to work with and their enthusiasm was contagious. Please use me as a reference and feel free to check up with me anytime about Casey. I took her last week to have a much needed bath and grooming…..I LOVE HER!!! AND SHE LOVES HER NEW HOME

I just wanted you to see that Aggie is happy and well waiting for her lunch. She needed a little dental work and now is like a little piggy with her food!! She is as sweet as ever. Thank you for letting her adopt us!!!…..Ed & Susie Walczak

I wanted to send you guys a pic of Splash. We adapted her 2 years ago. She is the best dog I have ever had in my 44 years. We named her Thalia. A pic of just after we got her and one on her wedding birthday

MJ is doing great in her new forever home! Thank you to Cristi and Bill for sending these pictures in.

Elliott is doing awesome! We love him so much. He fits in very well. Raven and him have become best friends. So happy we adopted him!☺

Gus is settling right in! Him and Tia are actually starting to play together. That started on day 2. She will still put him in his place when he gets too rough but it is progress! He loves toys!! Our house is covered in toys. He goes to the toy basket and gets every last toy out while we are gone and they are scattered throughout the house by the time we get home. We tried keeping him a kennel the first 2 days but it seemed to stress him and Tia out more so him and Tia sit in a chair next to the window together and wait for us to get home. We couldn’t be happier with Gus and the progress him and Tia have made. We will bring him by for a visit soon!

Spike, Cassie & Halle

Besides just the baby picture of Cassie I thought you might like this picture of all 3 kids. It’s left to right: Spike, Cassie & Halle
Here’s a picture of Cassie when we got her. Her actual adoption date was 5/21/14. She’s listed in the adoption book but there’s no picture. She’s still a bundle of puppy energy, more like the energizer bunny. 🙂

Lizzie now Lizzibeth

I adopted 12 year old “Lizzie” from HSWC in March of this year. Just wanted to let you know how she’s been doing.
I gradually changed her name to what I thought was prettier, for a pretty girl – Lizzibeth. She has her own room, my guest room, which has three large windows to look out of (along with a nice double bed to lay on !) I have a few cats and Lizzibeth wasn’t crazy about that at first, so the first 2 weeks she preferred to stay in her room. Now she comes out and hangs with the others, who treat her with reverence since she is older, but she still enjoys some “quiet time” in her own room. She has been a wonderful addition to our little family.

Buddy (Gregory)

Told you guys a few months ago that I’d check in every now and then to give you guys updates. Today is buddy’s 1st birthday. I got him from you 10 months ago from Dina’s litter.

Just wanted to check in and let you know that Cali is enjoying her new home. She is such a sweet and loving kitty. I’m so glad I was able to give her the forever home she deserves. Thank you for all that you do to help the animals in Wicomico County.

Sassy now known as Happy Girl

We adopted Sassy now known as Happy Girl, last summer. Happy had 8 teeth taken out and was finally fixed at the age of 10. She is a wonderful girl. She loves to ride in the car, go to the beach and say hi to every dog she meets. I have attached a picture of our wonderful girl. Thank you for the wonderful work you do. Happy is the tan girl on the right. That’s her sister Penny on the left , enjoying the sun.

Zen and Wicker

Thank you so much for making the adoption process so painless yesterday and for answering all of my questions.
Zen and Wicker have taken over the house! (And I think they have acclimated very well so far – fingers crossed!)
I didn’t know if you ever posted after adoption pics, but here they are, Wicker almost asleep and Zen getting a little face rub, on the chase lounge today!
Thank you again.

Nefertiti in her cat tree. She has a lot of spins and never sits still. She loves to roll around and stretch out on the floor. She also likes to sleep in the closets and hide.

I received a call a couple of weeks ago checking up on Sirius whose name we changed to Kami. I wanted to share a couple pictures of her with her forever family. Winnie T Pooh

Just wanted you to know that Winnie T Pooh is awesome.  We have never had a small dog before but chose her because she was so calm during the Ace Hardware Open House, even with all the hubbub.  She has opened up so much in these last two weeks. And she is a quick learner.  She is almost completely housetrained.  She knows sit, come, do your business and walks well on a leash.  And then there’s her personal fave- are you hungry?  She now walks around with her tail up like she owns the place.  She and my husband have conversations purr/growling back and forth at each other.  As my Aussie husband would say, she is sillybuggers.  The only thing bad is her breath! Poor thing.  You were our monthly donation in December and have always been our charity of choice since Amazon Smile began.  It is fortuitous that we found Winnie at your facility.  We will continue with Amazon Smile and spread the word about it.  Hope it is a great help.

Sherlock now Benjamin

Last Summer I adopted an orange tabby you called “Sherlock” and I call Benjamin.  Just thought I’d share pictures of him with you.  He is still a real talker, but we like his personality.  His favorite past time is sitting on the screened porch and watching the birds and squirrels.  He is such a big boy and growing all the time.  Great cat and we love him so much!sherlock now benjamin1 sherlock now benjamin

Twilight now Sadie

I am writing to give you a happy update about a dog that my husband and I adopted form the Humane Society of Wicomico County back in November of 2014. The pup we adopted is a sweet, tiny, black lab mix (at least we think!) who, at the time, went by the name of Twilight. Our wonderful girl now goes by Sadie, and she is doing fabulous.

You may remember that when we adopted Sadie, she was recovering from demodectic mange, and I am happy to tell you that under the loving and careful attention of our vet, her mange was officially eradicated by the end of January 2015. She adjusted to her new home, and her stubborn half Pomeranian-half Chihuahua brother–Scrappy–very quickly. Sadie has been an absolutely wonderful girl; she is very sweet and gentle, and so much fun to play with. She loves to cuddle and give kisses, and she has become quite the pillow hog! She has made so many wonderful doggie friends, and she captures the heart of every human that she meets. She even has a boyfriend; a very handsome Dalmatian named Lucca. Sadie has brought so much joy and love into our lives, I simply cannot imagine life without her.

Sadie and I have enjoyed mommy-and-me manicures, and she almost always has on a bandanna; she loves to feel pretty! Her first Christmas was so much fun; Santa certainly spoiled her, and she loved digging through all of the toys and treats. Of course, the Easter Bunny was good to her, also! Easter 2015 was Sadie’s first trip to the beach; we took her to Assateague Island National Seashore, and she had a blast romping and digging in the sand. She even flew a kite! We look forward to all of the exciting and memorable adventures we will have with Sadie in the future.

The day I first met Sadie was the Saturday after Halloween, and I went to the Humane Society simply to drop off some donations. I went back to say hello to the dogs, with no intention of adopting, and when I got to Sadie’s kennel she instantly melted my heart. I stepped up to the gate and placed my hand on the door, and she sweetly licked my hand and gently wagged her tail. You guys let me walk her, and I stayed outside with her for as I long as I could before you closed; I simply couldn’t bring myself to put her back in that kennel. It was official from that moment on: I was in love with Sadie, and she was my dog. I filled out the paperwork before I left that day, and I came back to pick her up that following Tuesday, as soon as the adoption had been approved. It is because of Sadie that I believe in love at first sight.

I will never be able to thank all of you enough, for all of the wonderful work that you do to help animals like my sweet Sadie. If it were not for you guys, and the good Samaritan who picked Sadie up on the side of the road and brought her to you, I would not have my baby girl. I am forever grateful, and I know that Sadie is, too.

Hello! I adopted one of your dogs, McCabe.  Just wanted to let you know that he is doing wonderfully and I cannot imagine my life without him now.  Also, about a year or two ago another dog was adopted by his mother.  That dogs name was Bully and is now Archie.  Both of these dogs are now best friends except when it comes to sharing sticks and baseballs. Here are some pictures of both of them. The brown one is McCabe and the black one is Archie.

Just so you know a few things I have found out about McCabe.  He loves chasing baseballs, loves playing with children, likes playing with other dogs.  He also loves to sit on the kitchen table and look out the big window. (hard to get that to stop though)  He also thinks that he is a lap dog and loves to sit on ladies laps. He is a ladies man.  One of his funny little habits is that at 9 p.m. no matter what is going on, he falls asleep, and sleeps the rest of the night until he wakes us up at 7 a.m.  Archie is a very quiet dog and does not like to share his sticks, but has learned that they are not all his.  They both like to sleep on the couch and guard the household. Thank you so much for bringing these furry children into our lives and I can’t wait to take care of them for a long time.

Daisy now Gem

We adopted Daisy Saturday April 25th.  She has turned into quite the daddy’s girl!  She is his little shadow and beats the other two to the door when he gets home from work.

Thank you for all you do!  We are so in love with our Tiny Dancer we renamed Gem; felt she should start her new life with a new name…and she is quite the gem!

Big E now Harbor enjoying a day at work

Just wanted to thank you all for the WONDERFUL adoption experience we had last week! Everyone was so helpful and kind to us. Harbor (BigE) is a perfect addition to our family. He is pictured in the attachments being my faithful walking buddy and he goes to work with me at my office! Our little girls are loving their sweet furry brother. We cant wait to share many more adventures with him! Thanks again!
bige at work

We brought Frannie home on April 14, 2015, so it’s been eight weeks. She is just the sweetest, happiest, most affectionate little girl we could have hoped for. She is very smart and her potty training is 99% complete. She just loves to eat, sleep under her cover on the couch, take walks and explore everything in sight. She gets along with kids, most other dogs and all people. She recently took her first long car ride to NJ and did very well. She enjoyed exploring her NJ cousins’ large back yard. They are two Min Pins, who are also rescue dogs. What makes this even more amazing is that she came from a hoarding situation for the first eight years of her life and it sure did not affect her loving personality. We’ve included a picture from her first walk at Pemberton Park today. We would encourage everyone to consider adopting from their local shelter.

Kami was Sirus

I received a call a couple of weeks ago checking up on Sirius whose name we changed to Kami. I wanted to share a couple pictures of her with her forever family. Her and Zannah love each other now and play tug all the time. We have enjoyed Kami so much and are so glad we rescued her. She has a lot of love around her now.

Here’s an even better picture of our boy Payton – he has become such a huge part of our life already. There isn’t a day that he doesn’t make me laugh. He is such a clown and the sweetest dog I have known. Thanks again for bringing him into our family.

Jeter was Flyer

Hi, I am just writing to share a few pictures of our Jeter boy(used to be Flyer). He is such a perfect fit for our family. He is so sweet, loving and completely hard headed! 🙂 But we wouldn’t trade him for anything in this world. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to give this awesome boy a wonderful home. We couldn’t be happier with him. We have never adopted before until we got Jeter. We would absolutely do it again. The other dog in the pictures is our girl Sophie. Her and Jeter are bestfriends! They play and snuggle together all the time! 🙂

Lily (formerly Florida)

For us, this is what it is all about – helping dogs in need find a loving, happy home and companionship. I’m sure you remember our other rescue, Bailey. As you can see they are getting along quite nicely, and Lily is falling right into place with her new life. She couldn’t be happier – and frankly neither could we!!
Thank you so much for allowing us this opportunity. My heart goes out to our other furry friends still seeking their forever home, but I’m so grateful that we were able to do our part.

Celia (Cecilia ) and Muffy (Harmonee)

My girls love playing with each other and with the multitude of furry mice and other toys they have to play with. There favorite play time is going in and out of the multiple base cabinets in my home. Makes you wonder at times if there is a poltergeist in the house with all the opening and closing of cabinet doors.
I lost my sweet calico Littlebit after 18 years and was so very lonely without a cat in my home. The Humane Society of Wicomico County made adopting a pet the easiest and most enjoyable experience when compared to Delaware SPCA and all private adoption groups.
My girls bring me great joy and happiness every day and I couldn’t be any happier. Thanks for a great adoption opportunity.

We were explicitly told that we must send photos of her in the reindeer headband you-all gave to us. She sat very nicely for the photo but in retribution she chewed up the headband a day or so later 🙁 . She loves her dog bed- thank you again for that! She is so easily trainable and such a good dog we love her so much. Happy holidays everyone!

My fiance and I adopted Simon ( https://www.wicomicohumane.org/animals/simon-28811/) earlier this year and I thought you’d like to see some pictures! He’s a wonderful cat and we’re so happy that he’s part of our family! He seems very happy with us. He is a really lovey kitten–he almost always wants to be snuggling with one of us.

Thank you for taking the time to have me interview you! Your insights will really help my project. I also attached a few pictures of Lucky (Aka Darla)

Daisy formerly Eggnog

Daisy (formerly Eggnog) has been a wonderful addition to our home. She is full of energy and loves to play ball and tug of war. She attends Puppy Kindergarten once a week at the Salisbury Kennel Club where she is learning lots of new things and meeting other puppies! We are very happy to have adopted such a wonderful girl!

Tyson formerly Utah

Hi, We adopted Utah from you guys last Saturday. I just wanted to give you an update. Utah now goes by Tyson. He is adjusting well. Tyson is so loving and is already spoiled rotten. He loves the kids and they love him. He went to the groomers today and I wanted y’all to see how handsome he is now!!! Thank you for letting us be his new family. We are in love!!!

Good morning!
I wanted to send you an updated picture of Tipsy (now Mabel). This little girl has stolen our hearts. She is such an incredible dog and has been nothing but wonderful for us and our two young sons. She has really come out of her shell and loves to play and cuddle. We are spoiling her rotten. You all were so amazing and made the process such an easy one. Thank you for the incredible work you all do! We will bring her by for a visit soon!

Here’s a pix of Tux and Isis helping me make breakfast!
> Tux is such a little love. He really enjoys bird and squirrel watching on his screened in porch! When he first came to live with me he was like a kid in a candy shop, he had never seen so many birds and squirrels and now he watches them daily on the porch, weather permitting. If it’s too cold he watches them from the family room sliding door while warming himself by the fireplace. Thank you so much for bringing him into my life.

Toledo now Bronko

I adopted Toledo (who we have renamed as Bronko) in January.  He is settling in great and I wanted to send you a couple of pictures of him.  He has gained 1.5 lbs and is up to 7 lbs.  He has been to the vet to get his second Distemper/Parvo shot and is healthy.  He’s a sweetheart and we’re thrilled to have him.  The second picture is him with our Schnauzer/Westie mix, Bo, who serves as Bronko’s pillow at all times!
Thank you

Wanted to send an update on Butterball who we adopted last Friday. He settled right in. Always alerts me when he needs to go out. We are always reassuring him that we love him. I can leave him alone when I go out and he has wonderful house manners. He gets along great with his 2 lab siblings and his kitty sister . We just love him! Thank you!

Our Rufus, just wanted you guys to know, after almost six years of having him, we finally found who had his Brother Rex, it was a friend of ours all along, small world. Ru has been a true blessing to our home, we love him very much, thank you!!

Rusty formerly Scrappy

As you can see Rusty (formerly Scrappy, has adjusted to life in the Killian home just fine. He absolutely adores the kids and has made peace with my husband. We all needed a little time to adjust.  At his first vet check (12.30) he was 17lbs.
So he lost 2lbs. We figure he has lost a bit more. Thanks so much for all your help and encouragement.rusty

I wanted to tell you that Toledo (now known as Bronko) is doing extremely well. He loves his dog brothers and tolerates the cat. He is getting to know our routine. He’s only had one accident in the house. He is playful and loves to run in the fence with the other dogs. He barks when he wants help getting on the couch. We love him bunches already and thank you for letting us adopt him! toledo now bronko toledo now bronko1

Tye Dye now Riley

I adopted Riley (formerly Tye Dye) last February. I only came in to donate bags of dog food that were left over from my previous dog, Roxy. Unfortunately, I had to put Roxy down the month before on New Year’s Day because she had contracted lyme disease and it was not caught in time. I was so heart broken from the loss of my best girl that I could not stand to go through that pain again so I entered the Humane Society to soley donate food. I had every intention to never own another dog. But, as fate would have it, I was persuaded to take a look at the four-legged friends available. Through all of the adorable puppies, energetic labs, and the sweet boxers and pits – Tye Dye, a half lab/half Austrailian Cattle dog caught my eye. Unlike the others, she was not energetic and did not seem to interact with the visitors that day. This was, until I made my way to her pin at the end of the walkway. I found out later that she had just been spayed the day before so it is understandable why she was in no mood to be energetic or interactive. As soon as I knelt down at her door and spoke, she thought enough of me to get up and come over, despite her pain. Our fate’s were sealed when I saw a dog in pain begin to wag her tail and take me on one short walk later. There is no doctor or psychiatrist in the world like a dog licking your face and dogs are not our whole life, but they make our lives whole. Riley brought me out of a rough time and a dark place so in hindsight it is possible for someone to say that she adopted me, she rescued me.tyedye now riley tyedye now riley3 tyedye now riley2 tyedye now riley1 tyedye now riley6 tyedye now riley5 tyedye now riley4

Molly was Jojo

I have been meaning to email Wicomico Humane society for a while now. My boyfriend and I rescued our Pit Mix Molly (known as Jojo) from you guys in August 2013. We love her so much and she has been so great. She had a 15yearl old sister which had to get put down in December of 2013. She was really sad by this and lonely so we decided to rescue another pit mix for her. She loves her sister and they are really great together. I just wanted to give you an update and to send some pictures of Molly and her sister Miley.
Molly is the larger brown one. Her younger sister Miley is the spotted white one.
Thank you for all that you do!

I just wanted to say thank you for allowing us the privilege to adopt Sammy back in July, he is a great dog and fit in right away. He has discovered that he likes smores (minus the chocolate) when we fire up the fire pit. Sammy also had his first official camping trip over the weekend and discovered he loved the water and was more like a fish than a dog.
I wanted to send you this photo to let you know we are so glad to have him as part of our family. We look forward to MANY MANY years with out handsome hound!

Petula now Lily

Hello Everyone!
It hasn’t even been 24 hours but we love this pup. She has the sweetest temperament and LOVES to be outside! Between picking her up at 4pm yesterday and going to bed she got a 1.5 mile walk and another 1 mile jog to get some of her energy out. She is bouncy awkward pup who just doesn’t know what to do with her energy. We pet her sleep in her wonderful bed from you all at the foot of our bed. She didn’t wake us up in the middle of the night or try to get on the bed. She got to meet 4-5 neighborhood dogs in our dog park this morning in which she made friends with another hound mix that can keep up with her. Crate training has already started, we toss treats in her crate and she gets to eat in there. It just seems her life before was all energy and no outlet. She’s a wonderful laid back pup when she respects pack rules and feels a sense of duty with learning commands and boundaries. Tails n’ Tubs made her smell like a sugar cookie this morning and we see the vet later this week. Thank you all for seeing the potential in this cutie. We’ll send photos and a better update after we can spend more time with her and teaching her!
Ps, We call her Lily now! With her brindle she reminds us of a Tiger Lily.

Just wanted to let you all know that Tyler the big manx kitty we adopted a few years ago is the biggest blessing in our life. He is so full of love and he is quite the snuggler! After his adoption we got him a routine checkup and found out that he has diabetes. For the past 3 years I’ve been giving his his insulin shots morning and evening and he is doing well. He is well worth every penny we spend on supplies. Thanks again for blessing us with such a sweet boy!

Hello we just adopted “Beau” today, and we are in love. And he is such a good boy! Potty trained- he doesn’t bark, he just comes & stares at you & when you ask him if he has to go potty does ” potty dance” lol. Thank you so much! We did! And “Beau” now Bruce – he didn’t really seem to be attached to his old name – so my hubby said new home new name & he answers to Bruce! Very smart boy – knows sit, back, down, house. We have his vet appt tomorrow. Loves car rides, when my husband says he’s going to the store, Bruce goes to the door to ride.

Kershaw was Gunner

Hello, I’m Kershaw! (I was called Gunner while I was being taken care of by the great folks at the Humane Society here in Wicomico County).
Well it has been six months since I was adopted by my new mommy and daddy. We have so much fun together and I get to do so many things!
I have made many doggie friends at the Salisbury Kennel Club where I am learning to be a good boy. I have also made a few friends in my neighborhood,
including my girlfriend “Uga.” You may remember her, you took care of her until she was adopted back in February. When I’m not playing at home I
get to take rides in the “puppy wagon” and go to the park and sometimes I go to momma’s office for the day! I really love my new home and I make everyone
laugh every chance I get. They say I’m silly and that I think it’s all about having fun. Tomorrow (Oct. 24th) is my 1st Birthday and from what I hear I will
be getting presents and a Frosty Paw ice cream – what a great life!

A note from Mom and Dad –

Thanks so much for helping us find the right dog. As several of you knew we were having a hard time after losing our “heart dog” Ruger and didn’t know
how to replace him. As we have learned, we will never be able to replace him however, we found someone that makes us laugh and have grown to
love him and his funny ways. All of you do such a great job and you have a wonderful facility. We always recommend you when someone asks us about

Paco now Tiny

My husband and I came into your facility on May 1, 2014. I wasn’t sure if I was ready for the responsibility of a dog. We looked and the first one we saw was Paco a male chihuahua mix, we stopped to pet him. Then we got to see another dog. We got to spend time with both of the dogs an got attached to one one called Paco. I filled out the paperwork to do any adoption not sure of which one yet. We left so I could bring the kids to meet the dogs to see which one they liked, they too liked Paco. When I left that time I didn’t know what kinda dog I was getting myself into, we got home and let him get to know things and tell hime this was his new home. I have to say this was the best choice we ever made we now call him Tiny. Tiny has been the greatest thing that has come into our home. He is well loved and spoiled rotten. I have to say thank you. Here is a before an 5 months later. Thank you for letting us adopt this loving dog (Tiny) he is the best dog ever. Thank you.

Cole (Conner) and Lucky (Conan) have become wonderful additions to our family!  Thank you so much for the opportunity to adopt these two great kittens.  When we first brought them home, they were skittish and our other two cats hid.  After a few days everyone began to get along.  Taco and Daisy love their new little brothers now and the whole gang is one big happy family!  Cole and Lucky are very lovable and sweet.  Cole is a talker and Lucky loves to purr!  Thanks again for the opportunity to adopt Cole and Lucky,  we love and adore them!

Oscar now Chico

Here are the pictures that you requested of Chico aka “Oscar”. Again I want to thank all of you at the Humane Society. We had a wonderful experience and the staff was very helpful. We are enjoying this new addition to our family. He was very timid and wouldn’t eat for the first few days that we had him but he has come around nicely and has become very active and playful, even a bit naughty! He enjoys moving the rugs (even though they are ten times his size) and playing with his toys! Thanks again for helping us find a dog that fits with our family and we are glad we are able to provide a “forever” home for him!

We truly could not have asked for a better addition to our family. Thank you.

Today is day 5 since Sam joined our family. Thank you, thank you…he is a darling. He has become so playful and happy and is showing his eagerness and ability to learn. Already has “down…sit” completely on his to do list and doing very well with the come stay command. Our grandgirls are visiting and he is super with them…so gentle and happy.
He is off to our vet for a meet and greet this Tuesday and we don’t expect any problems. Sending a picture of him in our “side yard” with our granddaughter…he loves to run!
ps…he is still Sam…our grandgirls liked that name!

Pockets now Lola

We adopted Pockets on 7/17/14. We call her Lola now. She has made huge strides! She came from a hoarder with 86 dogs and was scared and unsocialized at first. But she started coming around very quickly and now she follows me everywhere! She gets super excited when it’s time to eat and spins around in circles and chases her tail. We just love her 🙂

Beans Birthday

I adopted Beans November of last year and he turned 1 yesterday, I wanted to send you a updated birthday picture. He is one of the best things to ever come in my life, thank you for saving him!!!

Its been about 3 months since we adopted Molly and we wanted to send an update. She had another occurrence of mange but she is now recovered. She has adjusted well and loves to play with her big brother. She loves the beach and her big back yard. She loves to snuggle. I have attached some recent photos. She has brought so much joy to our lives and has quite the personality. We are so grateful for being able to adopt her from your shelter. You guys do an amazing job!!

Mona now Molly

We adopted Mona( we call her Molly) from your shelter the end of May. She was rescued from a hoarding situation and was featured on your home page. She is doing great and the entire family loves her. She is really coming out of her shell and becoming quite the princess. We are very thankful to have her in our lives and hope to bring her in this Fall so you can see how much she has changed. Thank you for helping us find such a wonderful addition to our family!

Pebbles now Daisy

I thought I would share some photos of Daisy (Pebbles) in her new home! She’s a little ball of energy who loves showing off her tricks to everyone she meets. She loves to cuddle and steal your side of the bed. She was so excited to find she had a big brother when she got home! Here’s Rocco (Whip) a year after he was adopted. He’s grown into such a handsome boy who is full of love and kisses. Thank you for allowing me to have this goofy guy in my life!

These are Gus’s pictures, since his first day with us, his first bath at Tubs and Tails, until today. He was 43lbs when we bring him home, now he is 62.4lbs. His vet is very happy with him, as we are as well. It has being a blast to have him with us. Thanks for letting us being part of Gus’s family. The first night of Gus with us, my husband had to sleep in the floor next to him, just to make Gus feel less stress out. After the night, Gus always sleeps next to us, in his own bed. All four of our kids love him as mommy and daddy too.

He’s had a few stressful days. Steven at Tails and Tubs did a great job. Poppy has some skin problems, but they are manageable. My other animals are kind and gentle with him. All is well. Bless all of you.

Dear Friends,
I’m doing great! I’m a fast learner and have only pee pee’d in the house twice. I love my big sister CeCe who is showing me the ropes; follows me around like a mother hen. We are sharing and doing everything together. LoLo ignores me, she’s still feeling a little bitter but that will pass once she realizes I’m not going anywhere. My favorite spot is on the shelf under the coffee table. There are lots of toys & I take them there into my “dojo” to chew. Best part is I have a kid! She lets me lay in her bed & I thank her by trying to kill all the wild animals that reside there. She doesn’t even let the big dogs do that. I think this will also be helpful to my new mom because…don’t tell anyone but I think they have a stuffed animal infestation. I also have a BIG yard to run & play.
Ear scratches to my brothers and sisters,
Merry (That’s what my kid named me, after one of the hobbits. She likes those movies.)

Atlas the Pomeranian

Just a quick note to let you know what a blessing Atlas the Pomeranian has been. We adopted him from the Wicomico Humane Society fifteen years ago. Atlas’ mother was in an outdoor puppy mill, with no: shelter, water nor food. Atlas was born at the Wicomico Humane Society.
Videos of his many activities – hiking on the Appalachian Trail in New Hampshire, catching Frisbees, doing obedience, “working” at the Home Depot, etc. may be seen here:
While Atlas has slowed down in recent years, he still is happy and finds much joy in life.
If you desire, feel free to like and share Atlas’ Facebook page:

For those who may be considering a pet, but have not considered a shelter animal. Thank you for the good work that you are doing, helping animals find forever homes.

Margaux (who was Nana)

It’s been a little over 3 months since we’ve adopted Margaux (who was then known as Nana). We love her so much & she’s brought so much joy into our home. She’s perfect & we had an amazing adoption experience at your Humane Society. Throughout our adoption search, we hadn’t met more helpful people than you all! I just want to thank you all for helping us find and bring home our perfect pup! It took her a while to fully embrace us and I almost didn’t recognize her in the picture (on the left) from when we first me her. Not only is she full of life and curiosity, but she fills our home with so much love. Thank you all, again!

Charm has settled well into her new home. She absolutely loves her new yard and prefers to be out there over anywhere! She has been well behaved but still very much puppy. She, so far, seems very trainable but still has some work to do. She is the sweetest, most loving dog I’ve ever met and has made a great addition to our family!! Thanks again for a wonderful dog. We will send more updates later.

Here is Daisy in her new home!!

On Dec. 28, 2012 we adopted our beautiful Hooch! He is so loving and a wonderful member of our family. I just wanted to thank you for all of the loving “babies” we were blessed to have! They are all cherished and those who have “passed” have left us with so many great memories! We would never consider buying an animal at a pet store.

Bear was Coco

I just wanted to give you a quick update on Bear (CoCo). Here is a picture of him right after getting a bath. The groomers said he had such a wonderful temperament. They also thought he was a Labradoodle, because he has ridge on his scull that is found on poodles. We took him to his first vet visit yesterday and they too agreed that he was a Labradoodle because of his fur and he has a poodle tail. Bear has been absolutely a perfect fit for our family. Everyone that has met him is amazed by his affectionate personality and how calm he is around other animals and people. So, from the Thomas family HUGE THANK YOU for helping us find our newest, furriest family member.

Here’s a picture of “Cassie” outside today with one of her sweaters. Cassie, Halle & Spike were out today playing in the yard. She & Spike are doing great. Cassie wants Halle to be playmates with her but Halle seems to be afraid of tiny, little Cassie. It’s just an adjustment period for all 3 “kids”. You can download this also as an attachment. Thank you all for everything. See ya’s soon.

Bruno, Blitz, and Bosco

I just wanted to give an update on that animals we’ve adopted from you: Rhett(now Bruno, the beagle), Armani (now Blitz, the flame point Siamese) & Zhang (now Bosco, the snowshoe Siamese) are doing wonderful in their home. Thank you again for all you do to help find animals homes!!!!

I wanted to take a minute to thank all of you wonderful people at the shelter. I have adopted dogs my whole life instead of purchasing from a breeder and it has always been a rewarding experience. Recently within the last six months my girlfriend and now fiancee nicole and I were fortunate enough to adopt one of your pit bulls bruizer. He was our first ever pit bull however we both had several labradors and collies over the years. I want to thank you all for rescuing him from being a bait dog from the bottom of my heart. He is the sweetest, happiest, and most loyal dog I have ever owned. I literally take him everywhere with me. He comes to work, the beach, and even to the grocery store with me everyday. I have never had a dog more willing to please. He has added an une as urea be amount of joy and fun to our lives since losing my lab of 16 years. Anyway we just wanted to thank you for allowing us to have him in our lives and we look forward to adopting him a friend in the fall from you all.

Thought I would update you on our wonderful boy Butters. We adopted him at Thanksgiving, hince the name Butterball. We love him dearly, he’s a non-stop source of entertainment, kisses, greeter and love. He made himself at home immediately, didn’t have that adjustment period I expected. He has a few “Cocker” issues but we are working on that. It’s been hard to take his picture, he’s always in motion but thought I’d send a few just so you know he’s happy and well cared for. Our Vet thinks he’s a great little dog (he loves the Vet’s office). Got a perfect bill of health, except he needs to loose 5 lbs. Thank you for allowing us to adopt him, he adds so much pleasure to our lives.

Hi I recently adopted a four year old female bloodhound from you. Just wanted to let you know she is doing great and has settled in nicely. She loves giving the chickens around the farm exercise. Hi. About 3 month ago I adopted a pitbull mix. At the time his name was cooper and after his adoption he was renamed jase. I just thought I would update you guys about how he is. Jase is an amazing addition to my family he has such a funny personality and is so outgoing. I’ve never seen a dog get along so well with anything like he does. I want to tell you what you do for animals I think is amazing and you do a great job. You are truly appreciate in what you do and I would like to thank you for all you do and for helping me find my forever home in his heart. Thank you so much for what you do.

Loki now Leo

Hey just wanted to say thanks. We adopted ‘loki’ last October. He’s a pitbull mastiff mix. He was one of the biggest pups that you had with paws to big for his body. We renamed him leonidas xavier merritt ‘leo’ for short. We need a big name for such a big dog an now he weighs a little over 100 lbs. I’m uploading a pic of him. I didn’t know if you wanted to share with the page. Our other dog which is a light brown pitbull boxer mix which I’d also a rescue from a fighting ring in Cambridge can’t stand to be without her baby brother. We love our babies. Thanks again!

We just wanted to update you on Bentley and send some pics. Bentley is doing very well and is adjusting to his new home and world quickly. He is the biggest snuggle buddy but he can turn on when he gets excited, but is beginning to settle that a little too. We walk in town everyday and play hard a couple times of day and are planning for obedience classes in January. He continues to sit and give his paw on command. He is recognizing words and their meanings and is getting used to routines. In the last three days he finally decided he would jump into and out of the car on his own and looooooves to ride. He is still mastering our hard wood floors..in the beginning he slipped and skidded all the time. There are still areas that he “tiptoes” around, its funny. He got brave enough on his 4th day or so to jump up on the bed (which sits rather high) but then was scared to get down and today was the day he decided that it would be okay to jump down. We learn and see something new in him everyday. He is so smart. Here are some pics. Enjoy.

Riley brought me out of a rough time and a dark place so in hindsight it is possible for someone to say that she adopted me, she rescued me.

Coal and Shadow

I believe Coal is on top with Shadow underneath, hanging out in their cat tree.  These two have made my husband and I very happy.  They seem content in their new surroundings.  Shadow is actually the more active one, yet is heavier!  The real way I tell them apart is Coal has yellow eyes and Shadow has green.  Coal  is one ornery boy!  They are both very loving, thanks to being raised by the staff there.
I’m so glad I adopted these two kitties!

We just want to thank the Humane Society for giving us our furry baby Turner. He has brought so much happiness to our lives, we couldn’t imagine our life without him. Turner is a big love bug who loves car rides and cuddling with people. His best friend is Tiger Lilly who was also adopted from the Humane Society! Thank you for helping us find our baby!!

I adopted Tucker (formerly Carmen) just this last October. I can honestly say it is one of the best things I have ever done and I could not imagine my life without him. He is such a good boy!! He knows how to play fetch and I just recently taught him how to give “high five!”. Tucker is the most lovable dog and best cuddler I have ever know and he has changed my life for the better!

Figgy and Hobo have quickly become a part of the family.  It is very common for Hobo to pass out happily after a day of play with our three boys, as you will see in the pics.  Figgy prefers to nap on one of the boy’s beds, very lady like! They have quickly figured out that crumbs fall from the baby boy’s hands so they loyally follow him around:-) Thanks for everything!

Hello! Here are some pictures of Dudley playing with my parents dogs,

He loves his toys (squeeky toy is his favorite) &  to go for walks in the neighborhood several times a day. All the neighbors love him.   He has surprised us with his tricks.  He dances in circles and walks forward and backwards.  He sits on command. He answers  to his new  name when called.   He loves to sit on the extra chair at the computer with his “Dad” and to  snuggle every evening with ” Mom”.  He is very affectionate and responds well to praise.   He just amazes us.
Many Thanks to the Wicomico County Humane Society for our Benji.  He has stolen our hearts.

Bartok the magnificent

It’s been a month now (hard to believe) since we adopted Bartox.  After the death of my big boy I wasn’t sure if I was ready but I gotta tell you Bartox has been truly a life saver.  It’s been an easy transition for all of us including Angel (our other dog).  She still puts him in his place but only after they have run and played so hard she is worn out.  It’s such a joy to come home to 2 smiling puppy dog wonders.  To us they are our kids.

Gex formally Riley–Massachusetts Adoption

Riley is doing great in her new home! Her name has been changed to Gex and
she’s so happy and comfortable with her new life. She already has a mountain of
toys and seems to be taking to house training and basic commands well. We’ll be
starting obedience school as soon as her final round of shots are done. I do
hope her siblings and mother get adopted.

We are so excited for Gex.  This family came all the way from Massachusetts to adopt!!

Chevron Now Tonto

Tonto loves people and attention, which he gets a lot of – from us, our family and our friends (someone is always with him because he can not be left alone yet). We have been to see Dr. Maniatty at the OC Animal Hospital and are currently working with a wonderful trainer, Kim Kilmer.
Tonto likes to run for the tennis ball on the baseball field, he loves treats like apples and cheese, likes toys but they do not last very long and loves to ‘wrestle’ with the boys! He is both a momma and daddy’s boy for sure 🙂
Thank you for giving us this opportunity…I knew it was meant to be from the start and we were right!

1.   In early morning, she likes to be in the back porch to greet people and other dogs.
2.    During the day,  she is inside and sleeps on her day bed
3.   In late afternoon, she rides with me on my tricyle.   I put her in the basket and she loves that, the fresh air and breeze.
4.   She is also very sociable, when my friend comes she jumps on her.

Fuzzy has been a great addition. I The other cat in the pictures is Mango. The two of them get along a lot better than I had hoped they would.

The Settles would like to thank you tremendously again for bringing “Bella”,
now named “Starr”, into our lives.  She had her first grooming yesterday and
as promised, I wanted to send you all pictures.  They had to cut the
majority of her hair because it was damaged but now it can grow back
healthier.  She settled in very fast and is such a happy puppy.  She has
healed well and picked up an appetite now that she isn’t in anymore pain.
She runs all around the house super-fast and she gives so much Love.  She is
perfect for our family.bella-starr

This is Bruno. We adopted him back in January 2013. He is my first dog ever. We couldn’t ask for a more loyal, loving and goofy guy:) He fits right into our family and gets along great with our cats. Thank you, Wicomico Humane Society for all you do!!

Shadow having a GOOD time. He likes to play.

Thank you for the opportunity to bring a new member into our family. We have decided to call him Mickey. The two names we had wavering between were Duke and Mick which we were leaning toward Duke until we saw the marking on his side. He is adjusting well to his new home with us. The only problem we have had is his aggression toward our other dog. As with any teenager there are things that set them off. We are beginning to recognize the triggers and minimalize them. Otherwise he has actually made himself right at home. He is doing well on his walks, willing goes in his new crate to sleep and loves running around our fenced in yard. Thanks again!

Hello from the Mott Family! We adopted Loki (previously Marrok) on April 3rd. He’s a great dog! He’s already house and crate trained. But at night he can be found sleeping in bed with me or my daughter. He Loves to “help” me plant in the garden, be outside with the kids, and swimming with his big sis CiCi. Thank u so much for helping us add another member to our family! You guys rock!!!

Magnum (Otis) is doing great! He is getting huge, and is so happy playing with the kids. He is such a snuggler and such a good boy and quick learner. Thanks for taking such good care of him!

Pixie has brought great joy to our family. Pixie is adjusting very well. I have been trying to get a nice picture of her playing with my sons…but they are usually blurry because she is in motion 🙂 I will keep working on it and hopefully send one soon. She loves to go for long walks in our neighborhood and is very friendly with everyone she meets. The vet says she’s in good health. We have managed to calm her allergies down and her skin and coat have greatly improved.

Hi everyone at Wicomico County Humane Society! I just wanted everyone to know that Kato is doing great! He is such a pleasure for our family! Thanks again to all the wonderful employees at your facility, they are so nice and it really shows how much all the employees care about the animals. We take Kato on a walk everyday. Almost everyday we take him down this road that cuts through my grandmothers farm. He really loves the walks and so do my kids, as you can tell. He’s doing great and we really love having him! He just went to the vet and weighs 93 pounds, I think he can stand some walks. Thanks again

She fits in perfectly and Mama Dharma is happy to have a sister! We love her!

Just wanted to let you know that Phoebe is doing well after her intestinal surgery. Still have no clues as to what caused the problem but she is eating again and gaining weight despite losing two feet of small intestine.

Maverick’s forever home photos. Thank you, The Doerzbach Family

Tigger is now 14 years old and spoiled rotten! We got him when he was just 6 weeks old. He loves sitting in cardboard boxes (preferably ones that are too small), drinking water from the faucet and taking walks around the neighborhood in his kitty stroller.

We adopted Huey 3 years ago. Just wanted to share a couple pictures of his life today. Thank you for all you do!

She is doing fine.  Her & Chelsi play and play.  They love playing tug of war with their toys.
Within 2 weeks, Angel had settled in to our routine.  She is such a sweet addition to our family.  I love her so.
Thank you for your caring of the animals.

This is the latest picture of Madison who I adopted one and a half years ago. She is still doing well and loves her fellow pit bull sisters.

Sherlock made himself right at home almost immediately. I think he looks at the house and cant believe all this is for him.So many friends have dropped by to see him and he simply loves being the center of attention. Face the facts,he owns me.

I wanted to send you a few pictures of our baby. He has been such a great dog. He is our house dog. He stays in our house and all. He is so pertective of me and the family its awesome. He is really a mans best friend Rocky, my fiancee Butch’s new dad takes him EVERYWHERE ! He has been a blessing. Thank you so much to you all and the great people who paid the adoption fee.

Duchess/formally Bacall has been a wonderful addition to my life.  She’s extremely loving and eager to please at all times, one of the fastest learners of commands.  I had forgotten what unconditional love could feel like from having a  dog, it had been too long and she’s filled a space in my heart that only belongs to her.  Hope you enjoy the photo’s, she’s honestly my big baby already!

This is Rockey who was adopted from us in 2001, Toby who was adopted in 2010, and Mona who was adopted in 2012. They are all doing well and living the life.

We finally chose the name Ziva, as in NCIS Ziva, because she is cute, smart, fearless and can take you down if needed! She and Duncan are adjusting well. She holds her own plus some and he is being extremely tolerant of her taking his toys and biting him.

i adopted Rocher on Feb. 21st. 2013. She is the love of our lives and we thankyou so much for her!!!

Duncan and Ziva

After a sunny day romping with Kato, Duncan and Ziva are exhausted.

My mom and I adopted a puppy from the Wicomico Humane Society in December.  Her name was Tinsel.  She is now 4 months old and weighs over 30 lbs. Tinsel

This is Zhang now known as Bosco on his first Christmas in his new home. I adopted him from the humane society back in July 2012. He was afraid of toys at first, but now he loves them. He also loves playing with his other feline siblings. He is a wonderful, spunky little guy.

Penney and Oreo (Cruiser)

I adopted Penney and Oreo (Cruiser) in March of 2011. They have both been great pets. Oreo teases Penney by lifting his paw and touching her – not hitting. She in turn barks at him and then it starts all over again. Oreo usually saunters off after 4 or 5 times. It is a game that they play. That is what is happening in the second picture.
Penney (Petunia) was one of the Chihuahuas taken from the person in Somerset County who had a bunch of dogs in a trailer and mistreated them so badly. She is still afraid to go to people. She never even comes over to me. She will lay down with her head turned for me to pick her up. She loves me as much as I love her. I just can’t imagine what that little pooch went thru before I got her.
She certainly was very traumatized. Penney won’t wonder the house – she stays in the kitchen but if I go back to the bedrooms to work she will bark for me to come back out. I try to coax her to follow me but the only way she goes to the other rooms is if I carry her.
Penney can run and hop around in the yard. She does this a couple times a day and it is comical. No one else has seen her because she will quit as soon as she thinks someone is watching.
Oreo is one funny cat. He is so very active. I don’t think he’s still for a few minutes at a time. He will follow me to whatever room I go into. I have to shut him out of the bedroom when I make the bed. He tries to hold the sheet or blanket so that I can’t get it made. He is pretty hard headed where rules are concerned. We all (Amy Hedger’s family and I) love him to pieces and he is good to have around for a lot of laughs. He wants to help me change a light bulb in the third picture. He beat me up the ladder.
I thought you would enjoy some long overdue pictures.

Attached are pictures of Kahuna, a great dane / lab mix that we adopted from your site back in November. His former name was Jack Daniels, but you renamed him JD. The second picture is hard to see, but it is of him lying his on a pillow that was on my wife’s lap while she was sitting on the couch. You can see she had to move the computer over to make room for him.
He has grown to be a beautiful, loving member of our family and our other dog, a 9 year old black lab named Raven, actually enjoys playing with him. It has now been 4 months since we got Kahuna and can’t imagine life without him. Now I just can’t wait to try out the lab part of him and see if he likes swimming like our other dog.
