CheeriO Mate!
Hey guys, my name is Cheerio and I’ve been at the shelter for 203 days. I’m not very good at math but I think that’s a long time. I’ve made lots of dog friends but they always leave me. My current girlfriend is Bella. She is beautiful. We sneak into the back play yard to have some alone time together. I can’t figure out why the friends I make here get to leave and I can’t. The people here tell me that my time will come but I’m six years old and not getting any younger. I know I’m not perfect. I have scars on my back that aren’t very pretty. I guess I’m ugly. The people here say they aren’t sure what caused them but I know and I don’t want to talk about it bc it makes me sad. I kept hoping my hair would grow back but it hasn’t. My friends say that it gives me character but I’m not sure what that means. I also have a crooked jaw bc it got broken once. I try to smile alot so people don’t notice bc it makes people sad when they see it. Sometimes the water leaks out the side, I move around alot so no one makes fun of me. No one really knows what happened but I do and I don’t like to talk about that either. I gets lots of love from the people here and they give me treats, and belly rubs, and sometimes take me on car rides and they always tell me I’m a good boy. Sometimes I do get a little too excited and jump and do zoomies. I try my best but I’ve been in the same kennel for a long time so when I get out sometimes I get a little wild. But after I get my zoom out I can lay in your lap for a long time just soaking up the love. I promise if I ever get my own home I’ll do my best to behave. I’ve lived in a house but it was an inside outside deal. It might take me a little while to figure things out but everyone tells me how smart I am so I promise I will do my best to be a good boy. Hobbies include:
✅walks with my fans who adore me. I like to gets my business done right away on walks and spend the rest of the time trying to get you to look at me.
✅I like head scratches, ear scratches, belly rubs, hugs, kisses. Sometimes I don’t even want to go far on walks.
✅ sitting in your lap. I LOVE people. Maybe too much. I had folks before looking after me, they would let me sit outside on the porch and stuff. Sometimes I like to scratch my back on stuff. I duck under fences to get a good scratch on. But if you can scratch my back, I’d like that a lot better. These people here say I’m small, but I have big love to give. I love hanging out with these other dogs here. I really like to check out the chicks.
✅ getting dressed up for holidays. my fans love this! They say I’m the perfect size for all the outfits. I let them do it. They seem to have fun.
✅playing with my other doggo friends. They can put me next to anyone and I’ll play. I do have medium high energy and some might not handle that.
