We want you to keep your pet in your home if at all possible.
We want you to keep your pet in your home if at all possible. If you are unable to feed your pet, we offer a food bank. We have free and low-cost spay/neuter clinics at prices hundreds of dollars cheaper than some vet prices. We have compiled a list of pet friendly rentals and information on how to create a Pet Resume to persuade a landlord to allow you to have your pet if they wouldn’t otherwise.
If you have exhausted resources to keep your pet, we ask that you make an appointment to surrender your animal. This allows us to plan shelter space. By law, we can only accept pets from Wicomico County and will need proof of residency. We will need your ID, and you will have a short questionnaire when you arrive at your appointment to get all the information we can on your pet.
If you have them, please provide us with vaccination records and anything you think your pet will want during this transition- food, bed, toys, medication, etc. We ask for a small surrender fee to aid us with food and veterinary care. Each dog/puppy is $25 and each cat/kitten is $15. A cat with a litter is $25.
