Spay and Neuter

Each year, we receive a grant from the Maryland Department of Agriculture to provide free spay and neuter services to low-income residents in our county. We have $5,000 to cover the costs of surgeries for 2023.
Please get your pets spayed and neutered through us if you’re a low-income resident in Wicomico County ($25k for single household, $48k for dual income household). Not only does it drastically reduce the homeless pet population and prevent unnecessary suffering in a county already in a crisis, but the health benefits for your pet are huge!

Cats and dogs that are spayed and neutered live longer lives and are at much less of a risk of cancer and other diseases. There’s no reason not to get your pet spayed or neutered if we are offering the service for free.. don’t you want your furbaby to live as long as possible? Call us now at 410-749-7603 to get more info and get your pets scheduled!

**Free surgeries available for low-income Wicomico County residents! Please call to inquire!**

Our clinic is operated by appointment only and we are currently going based on a waiting list, scheduling 1-2 months out. Call 410-749-7603 to check appointment availability and to be added to our list. If we advise you to call back on a specific day, please be patient as we have limited medical staff. Be mindful that appointments do fill up very quickly as we are the only free or low-cost option in the area.

Our staff veterinarians or clinic staff will contact you if we cannot perform the surgery due to medical concerns for your pet and we may not be able to determine this until the pre-operation evaluation. In this instance, we reserve the right not to operate for the health and safety of your animal. We are NOT a full-service animal hospital. Please advise staff of any existing medical conditions when you make your appointment. Certain pure-bred animals are prone to genetic and medical issues that would preclude them from having surgery at our clinic. Our medical staff will evaluate these on a case-by-case basis.

Drop off time is scheduled in the am and pick up time is scheduled in the pm on your appointment day.

Be prompt for both times. Once we have started pre-surgical procedures, we can not accept any more animals as sterile conditions are imperative to the health of all pets in our clinic.

All animals must be restrained or contained at drop off and pick up. Dogs must be on a leash with a collar or harness. Cats must be in an appropriate size carrier or trap. Please make sure your carrier is big enough for the animal to be comfortable.

Payments are CASH, CREDIT OR DEBIT CARD ONLY and due upon pick-up of the animals. We do not accept checks as payment. If for any reason, you do not pick up your animal on the day of surgery, you will be charged for overnight boarding.

On the night before surgery, DO NOT allow your animal to eat food or treats nor drink water after midnight. This is for the health and safety of your animal as they will be given medications for sedation and we do not want them to vomit food or water while they are sedated. We understand animals can get into things, if you believe your pet did ingest food or water after midnight, still bring them in for surgery and advise staff. We have medicine to help with this, but you may have a small upcharge on your bill.

We reserve the right to adjust our prices of the procedure on special clinic days based on the vet we have performing the surgery and the need for extra staff.
