I am a 2 year old, Female, Smooth Coated Collie Mix.
Kiern is a special girl. She came to the shelter with a prior chronic injury to her left front. We think she has had some nerve damage in that front leg that has caused her to stop using the affected limb. This has caused muscle wasting from the shoulder. She does not seem to be in any obvious pain, but we do recommend that she does not overdo exercise and cause any more issues. It would be great to find someone that would be willing to try different therapies with her to help the nerve damage.
Even though she only has 3 good legs, she doesn’t let that hold her back and still gets around just fine! She’d run around all day if she could. Although it would be a lot better if she didn’t have to walk around on hard concrete every day! Kiern is such a sweet dog that loves her people and couldn’t contain her excitement went she got to go on 2 outings recently. She’s an amazing car rider – even though she’d rather just cuddle you and lay on your lap the whole time.
Kiern might be a little too interested/playful with cats and seems a bit dog selective, but it’s also very overwhelming for her here and she was sick and stuck in an isolation kennel for a good bit. Now that she’s feeling all better and ready to find her family, she says all she wants is to be loved! She’s a giant cuddlebug that would love someone to spoil her like she deserves. Kiern loves her people, stuffed animals, and belly rubs and wants to find her forever version of that. Come meet this sweetheart and let her playful personality and adorable cuddles steal your heart. She is currently around 50 pounds.
