Marty was a little devil when he first came to us, but Now Abby from Shore Dog Training has given him some much needed manners. Marty is a lovable young ambitious newcomer. He loves belly rubs, giving kisses, and cuddling in your lap. He had an aversion to being leashed and was getting snappy. This behavior has all been corrected. Once he is on a leash all is right in the world and he walks on leash like a pro and does not seem to mind the leash coming off. He needs a person that will be willing to work with him and be patient as he continues to master this very needed new skill. He is adorable so we are sure everyone will be wanting to meet him but we will have to pick the right family for his forever home, so he has a chance to build his confidence and learn that the dreaded leash means good things are coming. We believe he will do great with older children who respect him. He currently weighs around 12 pounds.
Marty tends to be a resource guarder with his food and toys, and would do best in a home with older children only. He really needs a dog savvy owner committed to his training and willing to be as patient as possible. We just know the perfect fit is out there for him, and we hope he can find that home soon!
