Date Adopted: 03-01-24

I am a 1 year old, Spayed Female, Pit Bull Mix.

🎵 Whisper to me softly these words upon my fur.
No one’s near and listenin’, so please don’t say goodbye…..Just hold me close and love me.🎵

Our dear sweet whisper wiggles all over the moment she sees you approach her kennel. She cowers close to the ground indicating she has been treated harshly by hoomans in her past. But she is still eager to give you love unconditionally. She is learning what walks are. We think she was not given much freedom before. She is not a puller and is easy to walk but she is a forever sniffer. She does not require an energetic walk (at this time since all this is new., but that might change) She will stand and sniff and then move to the next item to sniff. She loves cuddles in her kennel where she feels safe. She does well in her kennel, keeps it neat and allows visitors to come in touch all her toys and bowls and is very welcoming. She will do well being crate trained and will need her crate to be her safe place that will allow her to feel secure during her transition into your home. Training will also be necessary. Not that she has any bad behavior right now- she is a dream. But she was not given the tools to teach her how to make decisions as a dog. So she lacks confidence. We feel the previous hooman interactions were limited and abrupt. She will need to work on the bond with her new family to look to them for direction. “Sit”, “watch me”, “leave it” give “paw”, “Wait” will be the language she needs to learn to be her best self.
She will be an amazing companion and soulmate. She has so much to offer.
She is a petite little princess weighing 46 pounds. Her new family will need to go slow and have patience. No new introductions for the first two weeks. Just immediate family. Establish a new routine of walk, sniff, eat, train, play and repeat. The first two weeks in her new home will be very important to establish that forever bond. Whisper is already a staff and volunteer favorite.
She is easy to get out of her kennel, walk by other dogs and cats, does not jump on you, does not pull and being with her just feels so right. Come out and sit with her a while, she may seem more interested in sniffing when outside but if you find a bench, she will whisper all her secrets to you and give you lots of kisses.
