Lydia is a country gal at β™₯️ trying to adjust to life in the “Big city”.
Since coming to HSWC bed and breakfast she has met the nice staff and likes all of the volunteers she has met. She is not fond of all the barking dogs. She seems sensitive and takes the barking personally. She will squawk back at them in excitement as she goes their kennels. She is beautiful and sweet. Lydia is one of those dogs all the volunteers can’t wait to see each day. Fans of the boxer breed will love Lydia. She is always in a good mood and ready for a laugh. She seems to have good leash manners. She is not a big puller. Once outside she sits and watches other dogs go by ok, but may not want to live with them. Lydia is the perfect compact size. She weighs 48 pounds. Her cat manners are average: she is very interested and intense with outside cats (she rushes over to tell them some jokes, and warn them those other obnoxious barking dogs are nearby, but they run away which makes her want to chase them). She does not seem interested in the inside cats. She will need her leader to train her that cats are friends, not toys to chase. She is eager to please her leader, so training will not be difficult.

Here is the review from Lydia’s favorite volunteer Sharrell:
“She’s very sweet. Walks nicely. Once she knows her walker she becomes your best friend. She seems to have been poorly socialized as a pup so she’s appears reactive to other dogs but it’s more a fear reaction in my opinion. She needs to be one and only dog at this point. She’s a love bug.”

Please come and and visit Lydia, take a nice walk and sit with her. She is looking to make hooman friends that will give her comfort that she has not had before. We promise you will share some laughs together. She is all ready to be a wonderful companion. She has been here for Halloween and Santa Paws day. We thought for sure she would be long gone by now. She has her St. Valentine list ready and is begging Cupid for a furever home and a new best friend. Maybe that’s you??? Come and visit sweet Lydia and be ready for her to steal your heart! πŸ’–πŸΎπŸΎπŸ’œ
