Sir Walden Valentino VI – 63759

Date Available for Adoption: 02-26-2024

I am a 2 year old, Neutered Male, Pit Bull Mix.

**Sir Walden is in a foster home, but can be easily brought into the shelter. Please give us a call to inquire about meeting him. We promise his love will be worth that small bit of extra effort! Dogs that are in foster homes have the advantage of already having some home training and having an easier transition to their forever home.**

Sir Walden Valentino VI is a dignified gentleman of few words. He is calm and reserved, taking in his surroundings. He is happy on walks and reluctant to return to the kennels. He is quite unsure of why he is here. He seems to be somewhat sad but very polite. He is a nice boy. He is slow to trust and open up. He is cautious and not the kind of fella that is going to bounce all over his guests. He shows No reactions to animals at this time. He is an athletic 49 pounds. He would like to meet new friends slowly and is interested in finding a quiet home that will be filled with love and patience. Each dogs follows their own path, and each journey is unique. We will watch as Sir Walden begins his journey to his new life. We are excited to see where it takes him, who will love him and who he will choose to love in return.

From Sir Walden’s foster family:

Sir or Walden or Wallie, is THE BEST BOY!! He has such a calm, sweet disposition and just wants to feel safe & loved! He enjoys long walks or just embracing his quick burst zoomies in the fenced in back yard!

We have been working with Walden to pull less and become a better walker (he’s just so excited to explore and sniff everything!) He’s mastered sit and “down”, and we’re working on “stay”– he’s very treat motivated! I recently learned he loves ice cubes!

While we keep all of our pups separated during feeding time, Walden doesn’t seen to be food/water/treat/ attention aggressive.. he just doesnt seem to have an aggressive or mean bone in his body.

Walden and our 13 year old Pug have become great buddies, they follow each other around and have even started laying near/ with one another.

We don’t have any cats of our own but do have quite a few neighborhood cats that Walden doesn’t even seem to notice.. He has been so gentle and loving to our younger neighbor children– I think he just loves everyone!

Hmm.. how else can I brag on him..

Walden has done great in his crate! He has a nice set up in our laundry room and he will even put himself to bed some nights, which is the cutest thing I’ve ever seen. (We have kept his crate door open but also keep a gate up nearby over night or if we’re gone during the day and he sleeps throughout the night/ relaxes during the day which leads me to something big–

NO ACCIDENTS IN THE HOUSE!! I was worried about Walden and Ottis marking/ trying to train Walden to go outside but he has been a good, respectful man.

Walden has recently started his heartworm medication and is responding well!

While it would make me quite sad to say see you later to Sir Walden, it has been amazing to watch him open up and thrive in our home and I very much look forward to him finding his forever home– he deserves that and to his future family, you’ll be the luckiest to care for and love on this guy.
